Posts: 1 Dallas, Texas | Just joined a few days ago; I sat on a Vision at a dealer in early December and can't get it out of my mind so I am looking to buy a Vision hopefully very soon, I currently ride an '09 R1200GSA. The BMW Adventure is a great "all-around" machine and I enjoy riding it a lot, except on my short 10-mile stop-n-go urban jungle commute (single-plate dry clutch, no radio, etc.).
I am looking at an '08 dealer demo; are there any significant disadvantages to an '08 (assuming the dealer demo bike is current on all open campaigns and it is eligible for the 5-Year factory warranty)?
Thanks!

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Welcome Adan. I have an '08 with nearly 40,000 on it and can't break it. I listen to XM so can't comment on some problems guys have had regarding the radio and i-pod issues. Search the forums (or ask questions where to look) here for the latest fixes and updates. If you can find a killer deal on an '08 I would go for it in a heatbeat. Every issue is fixable. Keep the tires over 40 psi, pump up the shock where you want it and go ride the daylights out of it. |

Everyone on the board here knows that the 2008 Super Steel Gray is the fastest color, so hopefully you are getting that one.
I forgot to add that if you are considering cams, (a lot of folks here have added them) you WON'T need the cam follower from Lloyd and save yourself some coin.

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | I too purchased an 08 demo bike ..... ok it was still in 08 LOL. It had about 2000 miles on it and was in the color that I wanted. My dealer didnt have any other Visions since it was near the close of the years bike season. My dealership is awesome, and i got a great deal on the bike. At first i whined about not having the reverse on the 09 but after 2 years of my bike, honestly, ive never needed it.
Any way you cut it, you'll love the bike no matter what year its attached to. Go for it, enjoy it, and we welcome you here and wanna share in all your new found fun, excitement, and celebrity............. Go for it !!! |

I would think that if it is an 08 demo, it has not been registered or titled. Then it should come in under the extended warranty program. Your dealer should know. Mine is an 09, and it was a demo, it had 468 miles on it when I picked it up last Tuesday. In addition to the great price, 17,995, I found a coupon from Victory for an additional $500 off that. Don't think you can go wrong with a Vision. |

Posts: 2 Vancouver, Canada | Hey Adan, I too am new to the site and just made the leap from BMW 1150 GS to Victory. I purchased a 2009 Black Vision on Dec 31 at 12 noon to get the $500 factory incentive + the 5 year warranty. Not sure if they are going to extend the 5 year in 2010 so I went for it. I have been looking at Victory since 2002 as I wanted to make the switch to a V twin and HD was just not what I wanted. My wife has also sold her 650 GS and will be going to a Vegas later this year. I am really looking forward to the Vision. I also think this is a great site.
I hope the 5 year warranty is still an option for all new converts going forward in 2010. |

| You will love the Vision just got mine in Dec. Just do your homework on price. My dealer wanted 23000 for an 09 with 1500 miles found a brand new 09 200 miles away with 2 miles on it for 17000. Same premium, better color(midnight Cherry). Look around you can get a premium 09 for around 17200. Good luck |

Posts: 394 Tucson, AZ | I bought my 08 Tour Comfort on November 1, 2008. It was a demo with 325 miles on it. Got one hell of a deal on it. I traded my 2000 Valkyrie, so I can't really say what the true cost was other then the difference that I paid. I never had it back to the dealer for ANY warranty work and I'm still smilin'. |

Posts: 105 Columbia, TN United States | Oh my I forgot the best part. If you purchased a new motorcycle in 2009 on/after February 17th through December 31, 2009, you will get a full tax credit on the sales tax paid on the purchase. That is somewhere around $1500 for me. Check into this if you qualify before you file your 2009 federal taxes. |

Posts: 125 Kerrville Texas ( now a homeowner on six acres) | Hey dude, welcome to the group who ride the best ride on the road.I was one of the guys who baught the 08 vision three days after the dealer revieved it in September of 07. therefore I paid the full $21,400. However, since I paid the full price, I got the best deal because MY dealer went over the NEW PRODUCT with a fine tooth comb and made sure EVEYTHING was tight and the way it was supposed to be. So, I have not had some of the problems others have had. You, by buying a demo, should experience this same great phenomenon (not having little problems with a new product).
My wife and I have ridden our 08 some 31,000 miles and have had NO problems. Enjoy the ride and stand by to answer questions about the machine every time you park where the public can see it. |
