| Has anyone mounted the GoldWing luggage rack on the Vision trunk and if so could you post a few pics along with any info learned while mounting it? Thanks |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | As far as the rack on Ed's bike I've seen it up close and it does not look out of place on the Vision, in fact it seems of similar construction as the one for the vision. However the wing rack is narrower making it easier to hook. I've learned to be content with the Vision rack and have figured out what to use to get a good hook.

| Any side pics of the rack? Sorry but I'm trying to get a good idea if this is a viable option or just something that can be done because it is cheaper.
The REASON I posed this question to begin with is I like the upturn on the front of the wing rack that is missing on the Vision rack, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.... T |

Not the best, but images 2, 6, and 7 on http://ImageEvent.com/etspastimes/visionphotos give some additional view angles. |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | Also you can click on original size and really get a up-close view. When I brought the GW rack, it was a lot cheaper and I had one in my hand when I went out to the bike to see if it would fit. The Vision rack was not out yet, they had it in a catalog, but it was on backorder when you called and asked about getting one from Victory. So that is why I have the one I have. ET |

| ets, did you mount it so far back due to clearance requirements around the trunk hump? Or was the location just the only place the legs would allow?
It looks fine but I'd like to mount it more over the hump (further forward), is this do-able? |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | Teach, you can move it closer to the hump if you want to. We put this rack on the bike while waiting for the nationwide garage to open at Daytona one morning. When you drill the first hole off an 1" to the rear, you just do what you can to make the best of a f up. That is why it is a little to the rear. ET |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | If you look at the picks here, and having recalled seeing it up close and personal, I think the legs are very close to the Vision rack. With that said, it could move forward some if there is space to allow it in the lid. I think there were dimples or something like that, that is used to do the drilling. Also, can it be moved forward because the lid tapers in and because of the spread you'd have to put it at the edge or in the black which wouldn't work at all. |

| VA & ETS, what I'm looking to find out is can the GW rack be mounted more forward and up ober the hump so it is more central over the trunk lid? The question really comes down to the width of the trunk to the leg placement width. Since Kuryakan makes extension legs for the rack to raise it up off the trunk lid I know I could move it over the hump but what I don't know is if doing so would move the legs to a place on the lid where mounting wouldn't be practical. For example if I moved it say 2.5-3 inches further forward from where ETS has it mounted so it is well over the hump would the legs still have a place to be mounted on the trunk lid, or would they be on the armrest seam or armrests? Or maybe on or too close to the hump itself? A TOP view of the rack would be ideal for determining this. |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | Teach, I have a few more pictures of the trunk. The front legs are 18 3/4" wide, the rear legs are 11 1/2 " wide with the hieght of 1 1/2" to the under side of the rack. There is plenty of space to move the rack up 2 1/2" toward the hump and still have room to drill for the holes to bolt it down. ET |

Posts: 160 Lennox, SD | I really like the looks of that rack on the Vision but I would also mount it closer to the hump.
I think I will have to add that to my wish list for when the winter man leaves the flatlands.
I only have 125 miles on my 09 and my wife says I have already spent too much on bling.
Thanks for the pictures I also appreciate it. |

It is the one for the 1800, like mentioned in a earlier post, we drilled the first hole wrong and had to go from there. You know how it is when you get in a hurry. But now that I have the cams in, with the bike loaded, it does not take much to get the front wheel off the ground. ET |
