Fontana,Ca | I need help. I bought an 08 vision in Oct 09,only 5 miles on odometer. I'm on my second new battery, which as of this morning, is also dead. After only 3 days of non use. It was not on the trickle charge. I assumed it would be ok, since it was a new battery.Second battery was put in first part of Dec at dealer. Any feedback would be helpful. |

High Ridge, Mo. | Verify the charger is working. I thought I had a "bad" new battery once, only to find out my charger had died during the initial charge. |

New Bohemia, VA | if it is tour check the trunk light. If it is on the ON position the light stays on. Also check the pigtail for the charger that is attached to the to make it is not shorting out. Beyond that, take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it. |

LaPorte,Tx. | When riding the bike volt meter should read around 14 volts. When idling around 12.5 volts. The trunk light is a good check, but looks like you've been riding some in between dead batteries. Also, make sure all the recalls have been completed on the bike, there maybe a fix in one of the recalls. |

North Orange County CA | While you are at it, check with your dealer to make sure that all the recalls / fixes on your bikes electrical system were performed before you took delivery. I lost a battery due to the ignition switch issue, but that was minor compared to the potential danger of loosing power at speed.

Cold Lake Alberta Canada | I had a simmilar problem that ended up being a problem stator. I was sufferering the same kind of thing, the battery died a couple of times then the volt meter started the funky chicken thing. The dealer replaced the regulator and charged the battery. That worked for a while, it started again and then the stator burned out completely. Apparently the first any dealer had ever heard of on a 106 engine. Since the repair the system has worked perfectly. Maybe something to check. Best of luck and the best in the new year. |

Had a couple of bad stators in early 08 on Visions, but since then I have not seen one. As was stated though you need to check the charging with the bike running. A word of warning though. You need to start with a charged battery, or all kinds of crazy crap can happen |

| Some kiind of drain taking place. Might want to keep the search a simple one for starters. I'd probably follow the trunk check advice and then fully charge the battery before checking the charging. I'd look around the pigtail for the battery tender for any signs it might be shorting and make sure the tech didn't cross the leads when he replaced the battery last time. You know the simple "ah crap" type stuff. Keep us posted as to what you find. Probably something simple/silly. |

Nova Scotia , Canada | I burned up a battery due to an overcharge condition caused by the regulator. This was a recall item for the 08's, I have had no problems after the repairs were completed at the dealer. |
