Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | I wonder what Victory has forecasted for production of the Vision for 08? |

When I was on a factory tour I tried to get some info out of the tour guide (their MCR Manager) When I asked how many they built per day she said they don't release that kind of information. About ten minutes later I asked her if they practiced Lean. She proudly said "Yes we do." I asked her if she knew what Takt Time was. Once again she proudly said "Yes I do". I then asked her what the Takt Time of the line was. She smiled at me and said "Now if I told you that, you could figure out how many we produce each day". I smiled back at her and said "Yes I could" Danm, she was smarter than I thought! |

Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | Well if we use some Takt (tact) here we could for instance find out the numbers for the first production Vision and quest for the last number for 08 via this site.
Nice try though with the MCR manager. Maybe a couple of beers at the local Victory employees hangout.

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | Question, do you think the last four digits on the serial number is the number of Visions produced? If that is the case, I know Pollolittle has an early one, 0699 from an earlier thread, I have 3994, I saw1209 in Arkansas during the BBB rally in October. I saw 4218 at my dealer when I bought mine in December. So if they are, then I figure Victory is making about 200 a week. |

Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | That would be good number to go buy. If they produce 3500 in the initial run, it would make for good coverage across the network. Do you remember where you read it?

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | Back in the November I was told by a person who had just left Victory who would know that they planned to manufacture between 3,300 and 3,500 Visions for the 2008 model year. In December I was told that demand was greater than they had expected so they make plan to increase this production range. |

Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | I asked the administrator in the welcome column if we could set a registration of Visions and follow them. If we have 3500 or more being produced this year it would be a good topic to start off a conversation of when your machine was made and follow the series and the changes as they make them.

Posts: 1324 So Cal | Mine is 2903. I read the order figures (I think) on yahoo finance right before polaris released their earning (aug?) I dont think that includes the demo bikes. I wonder about the VIN's on the demo's. Would they have regular production numbers? Its something to consider. |

Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | The test bikes would depend on pre or post production. I believe that pre production bikes don't have regular serial numbers and are known as mules or test mules. In trying to read the numbers listed here already it would be more beneficial to know the build date to determine if there is sequence.

Posts: 111 Maine | My dealer told me that Victory uses a running number system. So the number represents the sequence of all Victories on the line not just visions. |
