That line burns my A??, I ride a Victory because I want to ride! My Vision has never been in the shop for a major problem and I have fixed any minor issues myself. If I wanted to look at my bike in the shop I would buy a Harley! I was fortunate to be at the VMC yearly meet in Billings MT (I live there and helped do a few things to get it up and running). As bikers go, the VMC and Victory riders are the best. A little over 200 bikers showed up, the meet was also an event to raise money for a local charity. These 200+ "wanna be" bikers managed to donate $4000.00 to the Montana Hope Project (after the bills were paid)!!!!!!!!!!! That in my book is pretty damn good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If these Victory riders are "wanna be's" than I am damn well proud to be one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No point getting worked up about it, what was the joke anyway? I like a good joke. (and those that make jokes must be able to take them as well)

Brother, let it go. She's just your basic hypocrite, so there's no sense in getting down in the mud with her. It's not like your letter will spark a sudden epiphany and she'll stop being such a douche.

My granddaddy used to say, "Some people sit around quietly and are thought to be stupid while others open their mouths and prove it on a daily basis."

Ed - know you better than that, why fall for the trap of the writing wanting to get a rise out of someone. You have much better things to do than to fall for that.

On the same note, I recall being around a few harley riders and some none riders that was asking about the bikes. I was asked why I didn't get a harley. My response was it was to expensive. After I baited them, I set the hook as I went on..."It's not buying the harley that's too expensive, it's keeping it running..."

Ed, you know what you are and who you are...just keep on riding...

She claims to be a christian, yet her comments are very judgemental and close-minded, especially the one that has everyone upset. She even typed profanity in her reply. It sounds like she is ignorant both in motorcycling and understanding what a "christian" is.

This, among other things, makes the intent of the letter to get a rise from people, and nothing more. Hyprocritical, ignorant, judgmental, etc... all wrapped up in one. It is no more than play-ground name calling, why should grown-ups fall for it...? I'm just saying...

I'm not sure this one is a response baiter.... let's examine the letter for some facts.

1) Complains about being treated rudely by BMW & Chopper riders, then condescendingly speaks of other non-HD riders as "wannabe's".
She certainly just stepped into the very pile of poo she deposited in the previous sentence.

2) Let's examine the sentence "As a Christian, your joke downplays the seriousness that is eternity."
-Anybody who has passed 5th grade grammar can tell you that the sentence is structured such that she has just baptized the very joke she is complaining about into the Christian faith. We can start using the joke with impunity now because she has just granted it entrance into eternity.

3) "Your harmless joke perpetuates the attitude that we are all going to heaven and hell isn't all that bad"
-The belief that we are all going to heaven is an article of faith, not an attitude. Attitudes are expressed, they are not formulated into concrete ideas.
-If we are all going to heaven, who would give (pardon the expression) a damn (sorry, couldn't help myself) about the weather in hell? The formulation is a logical fallacy or at least a linguistic faux pas.
-"perpetuate" Nice word, Cherei baby... who wrote it in for you? Given the logical idiocy of the idea plus the misclassification of the idea as an attitude, I don't know if more than one person in this world is warped enough to make such an argument, much less have it perpetuated by such vulgar misuse of the english language. Except you, Cherei... you get the prize... and if the joke perpetuates your condition... seek pedagogical help. In other words, get a tutor to help you study for your GED.

4) "... and accept the invitation from Jesus and change your life. Once you do, then jokes like this will offend you, too."
- Wow... and I thought the greatest commandment was to "do unto others" and so forth. Now we all know, through the sagacity of Cherei's obvious scholarship, that the "twelfth commandment" is to "go forth and be offended". Just like Jesus was offended by Mary Magdelene or perhaps like he was offended by Judas.... right? In fact, the only time I remember Jesus getting offended is when he discovered that the house of God was overrrun by pretentious zealots. Where have I seen the work of a pretentious zealot recently? hmmmm.

I think that the writer of the complaint letter was a typical low-rent reactionary, more in love with the label of Christian than the living of a Christian life and certainly more than discovering what Christianity means. Undereducated to a close proximity to retardation, she might well be injured by a structured rebuttal to her mindless blathering.

Perhaps it would be best to just let her embarassing letter fade away... noticed but not remarked upon... like a fart in a car.

I'd let it go.

A Christian that has the Holy Spirit in his heart would not condemn and judge others as this person has done. This person has let something get his goat and now he’s venting his frustration in anger by attacking the choice of bikes that others ride.

I want to buy a Vision but I have also priced out a HD Ultra.

I like the Harley but I give the edge to the Vision. I can afford either one but I’m getting the Vision. It was the same when I got the Goldwing. Consider this, the words of a buffoon are not worthy of you attention.

I read this letter and the fact that she claims to be a Christian is NOT what got my goat. It was the remark about the Vision that has churned my stomach. I am a Christian and I ride with a group that includes ALL different bikes (Harley's too and I have never ridden with a better group of men and women. I have been approached every other time I stop for gas (or returned to my VV after shopping) and I have NEVER received a negative comment at all. Some people are such cool aid drinkers that their passion blinds them to reality. And the reality is that the Victory line of motorcycle are at the very least evenly matched with the very best motor brands out there. People can say what they want.......WE KNOW WHAT WE GOT AND IT'S THE REAL DEAL!!

YOu guys miss the point, this has nothing to do with Christianity, this is typical of someone with their own agenda who hides behind
the "Christian veil". This is a pissed off person who still needs to feel that his/her bike is "the chosen one" by the masses yet sees that
the masses have moved in a new direction.
BTW as most of you can probably guess, I have responded to their letter and asked to have mine printed as a response...
Hopefully if it is printed, I will have spoken for most of us, probably not all, but most. The rest of you can just send me a nasty gram
...... btw tommorrow is my birthday and today i had to lay off 3 more employees because of the economy, so its been a suck ass week.

POINT OF REFERENCE
THe term VICTORY is used greatly throughout the Bible. The term Harley Davidson is not found in its contents,,,,,, unless you count that passage about not eating pork......

God rides a red Victory because he wants to keep his Black one for special occasions. Those bright sunny days are really him riding the black one with all that chrome blinding us...

OMGLMFAO !!!!!! Ok so the birthday sucked, and we decided at todays managers meeting that we would list the 3 lay off employees as seasonal so they can get unempolyment benefits and we can bring them back in 8 weeks for the start of our business season.
I have to share with you guys if you have never been in this situation, consider yourself fortunate. Laying off people that you have worked with for several years has to be one of the most emotionally painful things you can endure. Add to that, its here at the holiday season. For me its a toss up as to which is worse, being the one forced to do it, or being the one who receives it. I think people
who have lost their jobs this year think that its simply a cold callus unfeeling uncaring job for us, but it isnt. Ive gone home every night
feeling like crap. Just thought id throw this little insight into me on here for those of you who think im an ass all or most of the time.
AND I DO GET MY BIKE DIRTY NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAY HEAR !!!!! peace to all.

No VaP, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes ever, and not likely will ever be. However, no matter how bad you feel, it is nothing compared to what they feel, they would be glad to trade places with you any day. But with that said, having a job, anytime, is a blessed thing. We look at the economy and say that there are no jobs, and plenty of people get laid off. The challenge for any one in life is to always have a back-up vocation, and be willing to "work" and not be looking for "the job".

I don't know how they feel either to be honest with you, but I've known a few people here recently that have been given short notice lay-offs, and naturally go through the anguish of being faced with that situation. However, most of those that are willing to "work" actualy got a higher paying and more stable job then the one they got canned from. I'm not talking about the entry level type jobs either, these are supervisory and managment position people.

I wouldn't hold nothing against you, that is just business. I've actually worked for 5 different companies in 3 years and never held it against the company that let me go, understanding the nature of the busines. You did a very wise thing by listing them as a temp and leaving the light on for them. Some would not have been so kind...
