Posts: 320 Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay! | This year, I have put a whopping 1,500 miles on my Vision, and over 9,000 on my Road Glide that I acquired on 31 Jan 09. My HD is in the shop this week for 25k service, so I have been riding the Vision for a few days. I've had several revelations: - First, that I miss you guys... LOL (Did I suck up well enough...?)
- Next, I miss my Vision. I haven't been riding it due to some small things going wrong with it, and major headaches with the dealer over fixing them, now that the 2008 1 year factory warranty (*grumble*... *grumble*) is done with. I have not been riding my ViVi in fear that something else will go wrong with ViVi and I'd have to go back to the local dealer and deal with them and end up with another migraine. I was talking to a guy recently at a bike show, who had his Hammer entered in the show. We were both bemoaning the local dealer. He told me about the dealer in JAX that he bought his Hammer and his Jackpot from, said that he'd never deal with this dealer here ever again. Has anyone here dealt with them with their Vision? My big complaint with the dealer here is that they don't seem to have anyone on staff that knows diddly squat about the Vision, including the sales staff. (I found more info on this site to answer my questions that anyone there knew...) I had to explain to customer askign questions on the sales floor how to operate the windshield, the light in the trunk and open the gas door. *Doh!*
- My old 30gb iPod Classics, which never will work on the Vision, works meticulously on the HD. Never locked up on me once! Go figure. Must be the perfect type of vibration on the Vision to kill an iPod! LOL

| GAT, glad to see you post. Ain't a thing wrong with riding the HD, but you should get some miles on the Vision, lol... Since you've been absent I've broke about everything I could on mine, almost got rid of it using the Lemon law but decided not to. Instead I'm just gonna make a few changes (add ons) and ride it until it dies. Keep banging that dealer on the head until they know what they are doing.
Glad your safe and still with us.... T

| Congrats on your new Vision. Had the same problem with my iPod Classics when I had my Yamaha Venture. I ended up buying a iPod Nano. The iPod Nano works great with my 2010 Vision.

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Welcome back to the board GGT, it's good to hear that you are still riding, but not so good to hear you're having the dealer problem. Can't help you much on the JAX dealer, but I am wondering about the electronics on the Vision. In theory, the "perfect" vibration would have an effect on a harddrive but I think it is more in the electronics of the Vision itself. To many things affect one another that leads me to believe there is a mother board or CPU that drives the entire train. So when something is not in line with its processing, it kills it. Just a rambling thought.
Keep us posted on the JAX inquiry.

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | Just bumping the thread here. I've been contemplating trading off my Vision as well. I just have had it with Polaris but I made the decision to keep her until payoff. Unfortunately, I don't have a dealership or I'd ride some demo bikes and leave her in the shop to be fixed until KS Lemon Law kicked in. So I decided to keep the head ache and deal with it. She has her ups too. Long time; no see GAT.

Posts: 153 Newnan, GA | 10-1-782 part 11 of the GA lemon law: (11) "New motor vehicle" means any self-propelled vehicle, primarily designed for the transportation of persons or property over the public highways, that was leased or purchased in this state or registered by the original consumer in this state and on which the original motor vehicle title was issued to the lessor or purchaser without having been previously issued to any person other than the selling dealer. If the motor vehicle is a motor home, this article shall apply to the self-propelled vehicle and chassis, but does not include those portions of the vehicle designated, used, or maintained primarily as a mobile dwelling, office, or commercial space. The term "new motor vehicle" does not include motorcycles or trucks with 10,000 pounds or more gross vehicle weight rating. The term "new motor vehicle" shall not include any vehicle on which the title and other transfer documents show a used, rather than new, vehicle. The term "new motor vehicle" includes a demonstrator or lease-purchase, as long as a manufacturer's warranty was issued as a condition of sale, unless specifically excluded under this definition. Now, I know that you'll say, "in your state it is". Read the fine print. Motorcycles are considered recreational vehicals. Your lawyer friend may just want your money. Tell hem to take a hike. http://www.autolemonlaws.com/lemonlaw_georgia.htm KS seems to include motorcycles by the discription of a mototr vehical: (2) "motor vehicle" means a new motor vehicle which is sold or leased in this state, and which is registered for a gross weight of 12,000 pounds or less, and does not include the customized parts of motor vehicles which have been added or modified by second stage manufacturers, first stage converters or second stage converters as defined in K.S.A. 8-2401, and amendments thereto. However you'll need to take it to get repaired at least 10 times. Who has time for that? (3) there have been 10 or more attempts to repair any nonconformities which substantially impair the use and value of the motor vehicle to the consumer and such attempts to repair have been attempts by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers.

| Mongo, here you go: http://www.carlemon.com/lemons.html
Pay particular attention to the ALL STATES category.
I was of the SAME impression that you are under, that motocycles are excluded as they are classified as recreational. However the recreational catagory ONLY applies to specific fee's and not licensing. After talking with a lawyer friend I ride with he assured me that was NOT the case and referred me to two lawyers who dealt with the LL (he doesn't). I have a VERY good case if I chose to utilize the LL, I have decide against it, but I could if I wanted.
3 times unresolved for the same problem and the law applies.
Several states have added motorcycles to the Lemon Law as it pertains to cars, several others have it on their blotter, but regardless ALL states recognize the right of a motorcyclist to pursue LL action.
Oh and the lawyer friend is from GA.......

| Hey, on the ipod thing. If the Vision is a 2008 or early 2009 there is (was) an upgrade for the radio that solved the ipod problem. The upgrade also improves the sound quality of the radio. I use my Blackberry Storm and run Pandora internet radio run thru the plug and I also have the factory add-on XM. got the upgrade right after I installed the XM. The radio sounds great (really) after the upgrade. it only took about 10 mins including hooking it up for the download from Victory. | |

| I also have an HD Road Glide, 2005, with 59,000 miles on it. So far this year I've put about 14,500 miles on my 2009 Vision. Frankly, I love them both. The HD has some kind of soul that the Vision doesn't have. It is also a cooler ride in the Texas heat. But the Vision is perfect for longer rides. I added the Ness Big Honkers which helped with the kidding I get from my friends. I consider myself living in both worlds - although I get a bad time for having a Victory patch on my HD vest.
I'm just grateful that my wife loves me (she prefers the Vision) and that we both kept jobs all year so that I don't have to choose which one to sell.

Posts: 320 Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay! | Hey guys! Thanks for the welcome back. Yes, I've had all of the radio upgrades, to no avail. Won't get started on the problems with getting them done. I connect the ipod through the AUX cable, nit through the ipod specific cable, Teach. I rerouted it out of the glove box and attach the ipod on the dash with Velcro, thinking maybe heat was causing problems (and to be able to get to the controls easier, since it's not available to me through the radio controls). Still locks up just the same.
I consider this my "cold weather bike", as was stated, it's not good for riding in the heat. But, between engine heat, and the seat and grips, it's perfect to take off a little chill! I've debated on doing an exhaust upgrade, but I like to sneak up on some of my friends when we ride. Plus, the sound keeps with the "Spaceship" image... LOL My son (who is 12, 5'9" and 180 lbs with a size 13 boot), prefers the Vision for comfort, but like the Harley for the "cool factor", although he likes the Vision for the "oooh, ahhhh factor" Still no enlightenment on a dealer in JAX. I think I will make that a seperate, specifically titled thread.

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Hello, GafamousgirlTrixie!
Been long time no hear from. AS much love as you have had for the ViVi and then to see a "For S**e" sign, Oh NO! I couldn't quite spell, the other word. Does make me wonder why you are unable to get it fixed to enjoy from another dealer? But it seems you have found another one to fill the void, even if it is the other "Dr. Pepper" (Mr. Pibb)! I can't quite enjoy a Mr. Pibb like I can a good Dr. Pepper, it seems Mr. Pibb is not as educated as Dr. Pepper. Would love to know whether you have sat on the Vision 8 ball? I would probably be in the same ball park as you, if I were unable to get my tunes to working. But I don't have the option of another bike or even to beg for another one. I would love to upgrade the speakers and amp it out. Love me some 80's metal. Rock on! Ride hard and long! Feel it, love it, work it, work it........ I have to stop, starting to digress and you know where I was headed. Enjoy the HD.

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | The problem with the old original Ipod is a electrical feedback issue, and not a mechanical problem. A complete revamp of the sound system software was JUST released in Digital Wrench 3.2. It starts at the very bottom underlying software, and does a complete rewrite, and then adds overlaying flash. I have done a couple of bikes with it, and have been impressed. Takes a while but it does make a difference.
There WAS two dealers in Jax, but Big Bike just went out, and that leaves Jax powersport. They recently fired their Vic guy, and I do not know who they havfe working on them now. If you are willing to go to Jax though we are only another 90 minutes down the road.

Jacksonville Florida | Ga. Girl, new Service Writers at Jacksonville Power Sports. I have most of my Vision work done there and I'm satisfied. When I need the engine tuned I do take it to Kevin X because I have the VFC 3 and Lloyds intake on my bike and Kevin X is the guy to see when it is engine related and Kevin has the Dyno at Polaris of Gainsville.
