Posts: 28 Basehor, Ks. | Hi-just joined the Vision-Riders. Great site. Good info. Took the plunge from Harley
to Vision('08). First thing is to get rid of the pathetic mufflers. When I removed the right
side muffler, I noticed some type of baffle built into the very end of the headpipe. Is this a
"wisdom tooth" that can be removed or is it an essential piece? Just wondering..
Thanks |

So....yea...ya could say that it is "essential" |

I did that and added a Lloyds VFC fuel controler, Performance A/F and the difference is night and day from stock. Not much louder than stock though. I would rather make power than noise any day. |

Yes, it can be removed with some persuasion, but it will make your bike no longer smog legal, that is if your worried about those sort of things. It will also relieve a lot of back pressure and quick heat-up for the O2 sensors that is essential for these engines, so it is really not a good idea. |
