Posts: 3204 Memphis | I had mixed feelings about posting the video. Didn't mean to bring my northern brothers and sisters down. I know a lot of you are waiting to thaw out with Visions trapped in the garage. Even more are waiting for the spring batch to get released so you can buy a brand new one. I remember the wait. I also remember clinging to very new scrap I could regarding the bike. It's meant as motivation. Hang in there! I can't wait to visit your part of the world over the next few years and meet you guys. |

Posts: 904 29 Palms California | DJ...it should be getting warmer. I sent some balmy weather your way. Unfortunately, I work the second shift, so it's in the high 30's-low 40's on the way home. Coming to work, 62 today. NIIIIICCCEEE! When spring gets to the east coasties, this will be a ghost site!
Hope to get some photo's up on the site this weekend. Still trying to wiggle into the ride in Feb. |

Posts: 57 Twin Cities, MN | Great video Tom - I'm a MN boy with one in the garage. I did take a short spin this past Monday. 45 degrees in the Twin Cities. Tuesday it dropped to -10. IMS cycle show this weekend. Can't wait. How do you like the Nolan helmet with the integrated headset? I have an older Nolan - I don't think it can be retrofitted. Again a GREAT video...

Thanks. You were one of the guys I was thinking about being snowed in with minimum miles on your bike.
The kids bought me the N-Com helmet for Christmas. It's actually 3 pieces; the helmet, the mic/speaker kit, and the Bluetooth insert. I had a Nolan N-100E and it feels almost exactly the same. (The N-100 can't be retrofitted with this Bluetooth system.) I can receive incoming calls no problem (touch a button on the side of the helmet) and the comms are very clear. The callers say that they can't hear any wind noise at all from my end. The volume in the helmet is loud enough that I can answer a call without turning the stereo down. (I do anyway.) I have an iPhone so I can't call out without physically touching the phone. It isn't voice activated. Once I initiate a call it all goes through the helmet. I may not be the best to ask about the high-tech stuff. I didn't even own a cellphone prior to the Vision. I went from caveman to spaceman in one shot.
2009 will be my year to follow the Mississippi River up to the headwaters in MN. Look forward to meeting some of you guys and getting the local tour along the way.
Come on Spring! |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | Songfan, nice vid. Cool helmet got one just like it, I haven't popped for the bluetooth yet. Just an observation, I thought for sure when I was watching that video you were gonna drop that bike on its tip over points. Instead what I saw was the way I wind up doing it, slowly ease it over till it comes to a rest. Still never gets old. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Hey Po, Laying it down gets almost the same reaction as dropping it. I have stuff in the trunk so it doesn't really prove anything to drop it just to make noise. I have the tall windshield. I'm sure you noticed the chrome access panel under the windshield. My plan is to take the original access panel and the original aluminum grill set and have them painted black with red metalflake mixed in. The painted grill set would be permanent but two access panels could be swapped out between chrome or painted, whatever I feel like at the time. I would also paint the rear silver plastic below the tail light with the black/red metalflake. The hard part will be staying off the bike long enough to get the parts painted. I've lost my mind with this bike.

Posts: 104 Plainfield Illinois | I lost MY mind on Monday and mine is still where it was. In pieces. I didn't take it apart but I do have a couple dozen pics of it from different perspectives while sittin on a stand. I'd post em in the gallery if anyone thinks I should. It takes me a couple minutes each to get the resolution adjusted for the 90k limit. Lemme know.
They're coming to take me away. haha
I'm not gunna drop mine on purpose either. What a class act though. I'm kinda in awe.

Posts: 3204 Memphis | The right side of Noel's K100 is all scratched up and the mirror housing is busted off because his centerstand broke at a gas stop one day. The tipover protection of the Vision really made a "what-if" impression on him. Lots of bikes have the gadgets and gizmos but the layover and ease of pick-up are what I use to really show how much thought went into this huge bike. It never fails to impress, no matter what they ride. The funny thing is, we will drop the Vision accidentally someday and it won't even be a story worth mentioning. To anyone else, it's a major source of embarrassment.
