Posts: 363 Goldsboro, NC | I've ssen a couple of posts about the new radio.
I'd like to hear about it. Is the reception any better? Any numbers with that?
Ipod intergration improvements? Power improvements?
Is it less flakey with the CB? Does it have Bluetooth yet?
I'd really like to hear as much as I can about the new radio, as I'm considering upgrading mine. Hell... I don't even know how much the new one costs or if it can even go into an '08.
Any info would be great.
Thanks |

| I have the new one in mine, just installed on Tuesday. The display is way different and reception appears to be better, how much I cant say but at least I can pull in WX now. I haven't tried the Ipod and don't run a CB. Thats about all I can say, but I'll try to post some pics in the next few days so you can see the display differences. |

Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | How much did the new radio set you back Teach? I'm looking at maybe changing mine. The radio works fine but the Ipod intergration sucks. Tried both software upgrades from the dealer here and the one in Vegas and still no consistency at all. |

| I just bought the 2009 Vision and the radio works great, the ipod works like a charm on it. The ipod gets charged while plugged in. THe dealer told me that it would not. But, i have found that it does and im not sure if that is one of the new features of the new radio.
The display shows everything, the song on the ipod, weather channel and all of the radio stations that you have programed.
In prder for the ipod to work properly i had to purchase the $50.00 ipod connector. Works great and very happy. |

| I have the 09 Vision Street, and my radio works just fine [ bit short on range though ]. I run a Gen 2 IPOD on my bike with the correct cable . This is the one recommended by Victory for the bike . It even put a Victory on my IPOD screen display , by itself when connected to the bike . It charges the IPOD as you ride , and displays the song title on the main display -- Perfect . I believe that you can now get a later connector cable for the newer IPODs , but why bother , get a cheap GEN 2 from EBAY and plug and play , cheers MartyQ |

Posts: 70 Iowa | I don't have any issues with my radio, other than reception. I talked to a rep. at the avr and he claims victory will have a external antena available for the vision. I'm still waiting....... |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | These guys make the radio http://www.radiosound.com/products.php I have emailed them. They will do an exchange for $175 providing there is no physical damage. I had mine replaced under warr. once. Dont have any display changes like Teach but it works way better than the original. I only use XM though. This new radio has developed minor cracks in the display window. Thats why I contacted them. So far it dosent leak through when I wash it. The radio manufacturer has a quicker turn around than going through Victory. The price really isnt that bad. |

| cjnoho, yep mines the newest release radio and yours is likely the one that is in the 09's. Better reception but I think it would still benefit from an external antenna.
Here is the thing and it really isn't a diss on Victory although someone didn't do their homework; ALL of the major MC manufacturers have tried an internal/invisible antenna radio at one tie or another and ALL of them ended up putting an external antenna on their tour bikes. The internal/invisible antennas just don't work well enough. The company that makes these radios are the same folks who have made HD CB's for years and they have been plagued with problems. I heard a rumor HD was going to switch to this company for their radio and I think it would be a huge mistake. It all comes down to dollars and cents |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | Teach, can you give me a quick rundown on the diffrences? I'm holding off til after the hollidays. These cracks/scratches? dont seem too bad but if they get worse I dont want to take chances with water damage. I have factory XM and my biggest disappointment with the '08 radio is the display. The way is scrolls VICTORY MOTORCYCLES when you turn it on, I was expecting more as far as channel display.
Hard to believe that little XM antenna can pick up signals from a satellite, but they cant make an antenna to pick up local stations

| I can't compare with the older radios, but the Radio in my 2010 works great. Great reception with FM or AM and the iPod connection works great. I will be getting the CB installed after the first of the year.
