Newnan, GA | After seeing Adams vision up close and talking to a dealer, I've reinstated the vision as a contender.
Oh yeah, to Cpt. Mac, that sent me an e-mail, I appreciate your enthusiasm and attitude.
Adam and his bike really get most of the credit.
Test riding a Vic Vision will determine "everything" one way or another.
I'm also waiting to be contacted by the regional rep to discus a few things.

| After having the Vision now for a few months, I cannot imagine owning a different bike. I love it. I came from a Road King. The unfortunate problems people have had are just that: Unfortunate problems. But they do not define a company or a bike.
You want unfortunate problems.... by a Harley.
Victory, my dealer, and my bike have been a dream for me.
Remember, these forums are for discussing problems. That is why you hear so many. Just as if you only go to a hospital--you would think the whole world was sick....
You will love the Vision if you are looking for the big luxury powerful tourer.

| I love them both. I would have bought the cross country.... no doubt about it. I am glad it was not out though, because I LOVE the Vision and I probably would have chickened out and played it safe with the cross country.
Lucky for me, the Vision was the only option.
See my gallery if you like. I blacked out the grey panels, and more, and-- chrome only on the big inner front panel. I love it. Classy and sinister and ...... rides like an absolute dream. I feel sorry for my Harley friends... they just dont know what they are missing.
There is the Vision.... then there is all the rest.

| One other thing I should say about switching from the road king.. The size of the Vision, and I believe the XC too, is a major difference. I have sat on the XC and XR and they are awesome. They both feel much larger and more comfortable than the Road King.
The Vision of course, is like a Hummer compared to the Road King. I ride my vision and then jump on my buddy's Electra Glide at a red light and it is UNBELIEVABLE how small that bike feels! I used to think my Harley Road King was massive, now it feels like a toy....and handles like a brick, compared to the Vision.
I actually feel sorry for my friend. He wishes he could buy a Vision!
As big as the Vision is (and the XC) once you ride it, it just becomes so fluid and easy to maneuver. I am very very impressed and happy with the Vision... especially when I swap with my buddy... good grief.. the difference is unmistakeable.
I am certain the XC and XR will ride and perform just as fantastic as the Viz.

Best choice I ever made on a motorcycle! I came from a smaller 600cc Honda cruiser, I thought the Vision might be to big. It is BIG, but very deceiving! I drive mine like a sport bike! Some of my friends drive speed bikes and have trouble keeping up with me. The first time you go for a 1200 mile 2 day ride, you will be amazed. You wont be sore, you will be ready for more! The Vision is hands down the best motorcycle i have ever ridden!!!!!! |

I came from a Road Glide and thought it handled and rode like a dream..pfft...The Vision is now the only bike I will own!! With the large floorboards, all the amenities that come with it and handling, power, performance...There is no other choice for me...
All other large crusiers either have fixed foot positions or are Harley's :>P  |

| Mongo, as I've said many times even with all my issues, it is a great bike with bugs. The NEW radio is much improved (just had it installed) so if the 2010's come with this radio (early release visions didn't) I think many of the radio complaints will disappear. Now if they get the headlite addressed we'll be rolling.
Here is the thing you need to know. These issues regardless of which are MINOR. However, they become a BIG issue when they aren't resolved or at least properly addressed. I don't care if we are talking Harley, Honda or Victory.... whether it is a faulty headlite or a loose cable, owners get really pissy when it doesn't get fixed and they are constantly reminded everytime they get on the bike that it hasn't been fixed.
Just about everything that could go wrong has on my Vision, thats not a big deal to me, bikes break and I expected some issues on a first year bike. I toss the Vision around like a toy and it handles beautifully. What is a big deal is when you begin to feel as though you are being blown off as the problem isn't addressed. The radio on mine is now fixed and Kevin says a headlite fix is in the works. With a bit of luck they'll have a fix soon. That should address the most common problems (radio and headlite). I'll still be reworking the supension but thats persona preference, not a factory issue.
Long and short is go ride one for yourself. If it is what you like get it, but wait for a 2010 wih the NEWEST radio, lol....... |
