Albuquerque, NM | Took a short ride on my recently acquired Vision and noticed some of the engine noise that comes up from the tank/handlebar opening. I was thinking about adding a piece of properly cut soft foam
to cut down on engine/road noise. I don't believe heat would be an issue in that area. If the foam is too thick or stiff, I'm sure it would affect the ease of steering which would be a sin. Sorry...thinking to much about minor improvements.

Wichita, Kansas | I had a '73 Honda 750K3 with a Vetter fairing and lowers which was a great road bike with much better protection in rain than the Vision. You could tuck in behind it and not get rain in the face - I haven't been able to do that on my Vision. BUT, you would get soaked from your neck to crotch up front because the vacuum behind the fairing would suck up the water spray from around the forks. In the right light you could see the mist coming up at you. Anyway, I saw ads for just what you're talking about, although I never had the money to try one. The review said it worked pretty well but there was still some spray coming up.
This has been brought up on the forum in the past year. One response was that Victory said the air flow was necessary for the vacuum reduction to make the fairing work right, or some such. No one claimed to have tried it though. Try searching the old threads. |

New Bohemia, VA | i've been eyeballing that from day one but don't know what would work without causes problems in the turn of the handle bars. I thought of trying something like cardboard, but at worse it would redirect the air more across the engine and lessen the heat. As far as the vacuum concern I don't think that will be a problem as some think. |

Tavares, Fl | I brought this up some time ago, but decided to just get used to the noise. My thinking was to cover the metal sides of the gas tank with rubber or something that would prevent the metal from deflecting the noise toward me. I think that would help a lot, but like I said you eventually get used to it... |

Extreme Southern, AZ United States | That hole is there for a reason. The hole why the air flow is so friendly on the Vision. It keeps the air flow smooth as well. |

| I don't believe I'd do anything on top but you may want to try fabricating a spoiler/baffle for mounting on the lower triple clamp. Might cure your issue with noise? |

Albuquerque, NM | The S1L1 pipes my bike came with have got just enough rumble in them to keep me happy. I love the having a stereo with AVC & the mute control. I need to order a Ipod cable for my nano for longer trips where FM reception is poor. I will probably upgrade the speakers down the road. Like you guys say....between the pipes and the stereo, the engine noise is neglible. |
