Much to the dismay of the Mrs. I took some precious honey-do time to work on the bike yesterday.

After reading some earlier post on setting up a garage door opener I suggested using the horn button to summon the Mrs. to open the door - not well received. Then opened up the opener - soldered a jumper across the switch - cut one battery lead (made easier due to 9 volt battery rather than button battery) and connected 32" wire lead - placed opener in small sealed box with wire running out under lid - placed in small cavity in left saddle bag - wires run through rubber grommet in back of cavity - installed momentary contact switch in left side cover.

Electronics are all sealed to avoid the problems that others have discussed. Cost approx. $5, time 2 hrs., difficulty level low. Works great even in this mornings rain, trying to catch up on honey-do list.

Will try to attach pics.
