I just got back from a run to San Diego (1500 great miles) and noticed that one of my clear lowers is cracked at the mount screws. My question is can I get a new replacement left side lower piece? I am talking about the the clear plexiglass piece. Thanks in advance

You cannot buy replacements from Vic. I would contact Will at Cycle Ops. He manufactures an amazing aluminum version of the deflectors that mount to your existing mounts....

I think you must be able to get a replacement from Victory. When I laid mine down the deflector broke off and went skipping across the pavement. It was on the itemized list of replacement parts.

I broke my right one this summer and replaced them with chrome ones from CycleOps. I have a good left lower if you want it. PM me your address and I will mail it to you.

If you broke the left one, contact Randys cycle in Huntley Ill.
I was there yesterday and had some service done. When i got on my bike i noticed the right lower was broken. Randy took a pack off the shelf and replaced it for me no charge (Randy is a great guy and his delaership here in northern Ill is the best!)
So i know as of Saturday he had One left side lower sitting on a shelf. his # is *847-669-0256 Tell him Dean heard you were lookin and sent ya callin. Good luck.

Thanks clubford00. I really think I need something sturdier than the plexiglass so I ordered the ones from CycleOps. The lowers are one of the best add ons I have so I really hate to have more of the same.

damn shame CycleOps doesn't make the whole setup. Seems a bit silly to spend $200 for the Vcitory louvers just to get the hinges and then another $$$ for new louvers

Hi guys, glad to see you guys are so pleased with my billet lower replacements. Now let's see some pics!

For those who haven't seen them...

Our matching billet uppers will be ready in a week or so...

As for offering the mounts, they're too shape specific to duplicate for a good price as Vic does them by the thousands. However, there are always hinges available from those who have bought the replacements and didn't need the second set of mounts. Do a 'Want to Buy' post and you'll likely find a deal on a set. Or look at it this way... but the factory kit, and when your clear ones break, which they will, you can save money then buying mine.

Get them here: http://www.cycleopsusa.com/custombillet.html#wd

Use VR10 in the discount box to receive the Vision Riders 10% discount.

If you are opening and closing them with your boots/feet then you should expect them to crack and wear more quickly....
not the intended method of moving them ...... just an observation

And a good one it is, VaParadox. That's how it cracked. I thought I was being gentle but when you are built like an (aging) ape, gentle is not an option. I do like my new ones though. I'll get the uppers as well when they are available.

My left lower cracked a few weeks ago right at the hinge joing just like everyone elses did. I ordered a new pair from Will at Cycle Ops
and am having them custom painted here by the guy who did the custom paint on my center console. Then seal them in bullet proof sealant so they dont chip and scratch.
With this many UNsatisfied customers owning the crappy Victory units, one would suspect that Victory would either take them off the market
or improve the quality if they are not going to offer anything longer then a 1 year warranty (which coincidentally is about how long it takes for the pre drilled mount holes to weaken, fail , and crack. Thanks Victory.... what a great product you put out for us to waste money on.

I installed the lowers on my Vision a couple of weeks ago and am concerned about them cracking after reading this post. I am thinking of adding some nylon washers on the inside and outside of each mounting screw to relieve some of the pressure on that area of the lower. Spreading the pressure to a larger area might improve longevity. Just a thought.....

With the stresses on them with the wind, and the bigger culprit, vibration, I don't think nylon washers will do much od anything. Being there is only 1/32" on meat on the outer edge of the one main culprit hole, it doesn't take much at all to break it. Since the nylon still flexes and is softer than plexi the plexi will flex the nylon more than the nylon supports the plexi. I think it might even make it worse because the shoulder of the mount bolt is wide already to spread out the load and the give of the nylon will likely let it move more than it already does now. Plus the machine screw isn't long enough to hold a washer on each side. Try it, but I can tell you now it isn't likely that it is going to resolve the issue.

I totally agree with CycleOps give it a try but I suspect you will only get a marginal improvement if any. I am still surprised that mine cracked as much as I baby them....... I would have bought CycleOps had they been available when I purchased my plastic ones, but they were the only option out there at the time.

GooGone or citrus based cleaners will break the adhesive.
