So, when I was up at the Oyster run a couple weeks ago I saw another tour premium that had chrome rear tipovers on it. It looked very nice. Having read the post about the bike that had 1 chrome one and 1 painted one got me to thinking. Did the tour premium come equipped with chrome rear tipovers? My front ones are chrome and my rear are painted. Scratched around a bit trying to find a list of included items but could not find anything.

Thanks in advance.

The premium only has chrome front tip overs. The large rear ones are grey paint. I had mine chromed and it looks great! You can also by chrome covers. Cycle Dragon (sponsor on here) has a trade in for chrome ones and they are fantastic!

the rear tipovers did not come chrome. If i remember correctly, the post you are speaking of is the passenger floorboard..Someone had noticed one of their passenger floorboards was chrome and the other not(like the tour and tour comfort model)

The rear tipovers don't come chromed, but the Victony online accessory catalog lists them. Installation is simple. Remove the rear footboards, apply adhesive and tape in place so they don't move, reinstall rear footboards, let sit overnight, remove tape and ride. They look great and are reasonably priced as far as Victory chrome goes.

That was probably my bike you saw at the Oyster Run.... They were the covers. About 2/3 the price of the all chrome ones. I figured that if it tipped over it would scratch the chrome, so went with the covers. Talked with your son (?) and gorgeous friend for a few... Nice bikes!

Ours were done by Arizona Victory and they look GREAT! Its worth the extra money. We wouldn't even consider the slip-ons.

The chrome covers are not plasti-chrome. They're actually steel chrome clad. They glue on so it sounds chinzy but they actually turn out very nice once completed. Every rear tipover posted that has been sent of for chrome doesn't look nearly as nice as the cladding becauase of the texture on the tip overs. It would take an immense about of work to grind, buff and polish the texture off the tipovers so that they are worthy of chrome. I wouldn't even mess with a chrome exchange on these particular peices. I'm very glad I didn't when I was on the fence about buying the covers.

Bigwill,

Our rear tipovers are smooth as glass, and so are our front forks. The forks from Victory are "pebbled" on the side, ours aren't. I will try to post a pic later today.

I installed the Vic Chrome covers. Very nice and easy. I have most of my 09 Black Prem. blacked out. With the front ones chrome and the pipes chrome, it does look great IMO.

Here's the pics of the rear tipovers and the forks. Sorry for the dirt and light quality, lousy light in the garage and its too damn cold to go outside today. 35F right now.

We parked one street to the east off of the main drag and there were 3 other Visions there when I pulled in. Sorry you didn't get the memo.

Hey Kenandpen: Where did you get the fork covers? Can you give me some info on those?

Thanks

These are not fork covers. Originals were taken off and sent to Ca. by Arizona Victory and chromed. We think it looks way better than the 09 Victory forks. Same thing was done with the rear tipovers. Talk to Mike at AZ Victory, Tucson.

I'm looking at rubber coating mine if I still have it this winter. Lowes sells a rubber dip which comes in several colors to include black. I have a couple cans for reworking tool handles and planned to rubberize the lower kickstand leg and foot when I had some down time. Got to thinking it might look good on the rear tipovers. So while the bike is parked for snow I'll give it a go and post pic's (provided I have the bike).
