If you use a Lloyds intake plate what do you use for a filter on the front. There was a thread last year on modifying the exhaust by drilling two half inch holes eighteen inches from the end. Does anyone have any other recommended exhaust changes that would open it up just a little.

I am currently running an '08 with no engine mods whatsoever. After taking Atom-12's advice, I had my stock mufflers re-baffled by BOBVIC and have run them almost 3,000 miles with no reflash and still using the stock intake filter. Not only do the mufflers sound much better than the Victory S1L1 or S1L2, I have absoluty no popping on decel and only a very occasional single pop when I upshift, usually when the bike is cold. It seems to pull stronger through the entire rpm range, but I can't verify that. The nice deep rich tone is very nice. It is not as loud as my Hammer swept pipes, but louder than stock. I highly recommend this mod (for only $200 plus shipping) if you are tired of the Stage 1 issues (that I was also never able to eliminate on my Hammer). I pulled the plugs after about 500 miles, and they look clean and proper color. No signs of either overly lean or rich conditions. You can contact bobvicr@aol.com for info or order direct from his listing on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Modifiy-your-Victory-Vision-Mufflers...
