Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | that's what I was thinking about this morning when it was 45 in PG. I'd like to be down on some beach in FLA. Great sun rise this morning and I thought about etpastimes who's on his way back to NC this morning on Rosie. I'm sure he'll be a little rosie himself or he'll sleep in until the sun comes up. |

Posts: 271 Belding Michigan | For those who love Florida I am sorry but it is over rated I live in Michigan and every time I go to Florida I get sick either becuse of the humidity or from being around sick people what ever the reason I am not liking Florida if I could only find some where that is is 70 to 80 year around and mostly sunny with great roads wait a minute I have been there the SF bay area is like that however you have to share it with 20 million of your closest friends or butt holes depending on your defination. I lived there for 11 years and love the climate but hate the people. Oh well I will stay here and jsut dream. Archie |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | Varyder, It's 9:00 and I'm just about ready to climb on Roise and head to the house. With a couple of stops to make on the way, I should be home in time for supper. I'll think about ya'll in the north as it warms up to the mid 70's. Oh what a nice day to ride. ET |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | if I could take the day off I would. It is always a tough decision to take that exit some mornings, but it goes hand and hand to have the funds to ride. Ride on, Ride safe! |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | What a beautiful day it was to ride home from Richmond. Left the motel around 9:30 and rode to Catlin's. Looked at the Vision stuff, too rich for my wallet, but did buy a 200.00 leather shirt for my wife that was marked down to 50 bucks. Left there and rode down US 1 to the dragstrip at Dinwiddie, stopped in to say hello to the drag crew. BSed for an hour or so. The hit the interstate for the rest of the trip. Traffic was light, weather was nice and made it home in time for supper(bearly). Now I'm ready for the 4 day weekend. ET |

Riding my winding mountain roads every day - past the beach - except at sunset, when Co-pilot and I walk the one block from home to the beach for a sunset stroll every evening.
Beats the heck out of Florida (where I lived 1997-2002) with the straight flat roads and large crusted bugs hitting ya....
But OK - the Keys can be a nice ride, especially for you North-easterners.
Chris - stop dreaming and get back to work.... |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | An interesting story, wife and I were doing the Duval Crawl three years ago and we were in a little off street outdoor bar with a stage. It was mid-afternoon and hot. When we came in I noticed five (bikers) motorcyclists, they were dressed for riding. Three woman and two guys, and they all really looked sad, and one woman was crying. Anyway we got our drink and was sitting in front of the fan, just chilling. In watching the group the crying started to spread to the other women and one of the guys and we could not figure out what the heck the deal was. A couple of minutes later they all walked over to this little potted palm in the walkway of the bar and took out a small container and dumped the contents on the dirt, and then just stood there for several minutes sobbing. As we were the only ones in the bar, the woman who was crying the most came over to use, and said, we're going to go now, please keep and eye on Sammy while your here. I think I just said "what", and then she expained they had just laid to rest her husband's ashes, he loved that bar and they would ride to Key West every year. Off they went, sobbing, we had a couple more beers, and watched Sammy...then we resumed our Duval Crawl.
Enjoy your trip to Key West! |
