Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | Didn't see any messages to the webmaster, so the first I saw was when I checked the site this morning (which is almost afternoon for most of the country). If you see something goofey feel free to post about it... but if you actually think you might want it fixed (hmm that sounded rude.. but can't think of a better way to say it) you might considered emailing the webmaster. webmaster@vision-riders.com I'm just say'n... as the old adage goes.. if you're not part of the solution... you're part of the problem... (Crap that sounded rude too)... you guys know what I mean.. We like it when the site is working too... but like many others... we check in once or twice a day... maybe... I really only look at the latest posts on the front page, or the last 10 posts I see on the RSS feed... I'd rather get a dozen emails saying that something is broken, rather than have it broken for several hours, pissing off 1000's of people, and not know anything about it. (dang... ok... so today I'm just rude...
We now return you to your regularly scheduled rambling.

I've been trucking for about 31 years.
I just need a wide spot on the road now days!
When I first got my Vision, it took a bigger road then my truck needed to turn her around. Now that me and the bike are 'as one', I only need about 8 feet to turn her around. |

Maybe someone started another thread about motor oil!
Things go crasy everytime we have a 'biker oil' thread.

Dang rude web-masters! I mean really! Get some customer service behind you...oh wait, we are talking about Visions on this site and this is a Vision site...Never mind!
Ha ha! Kidding!
I feel your pain, Miles! That is the reason I quit hosting and maintaining sites. Many people just complained rather than dropping a quick email to say the site was experiencing issues. Most of the time it was a 30 second fix. BUT, the damage to some customers was already done and nothing I could say or do would bring them back.
Don't worry...I will still come back!

You can act like one of the cool dude insiders with all the pain and ideas if you wish.
However, we nobodies on the outside are the one's who use this site and aren't impressed with the webmaster's (boss of this site) attitude of we peons in the past.
In the past I sent a couple emails asking a question about a product in the merchandise area. Didn't get a reply so I asked in a post. Still no reply.
Ask another question of the powers in charge over a year ago in a post, it got ignored.
It doesn't take long to understand that whoever these people are that are in charge of this site have posters that like and others they don't.
Thus, telling them they have a broken link in a post seems to be the only way to embarrass them into fixing their lack of oversight of THEIR website.
From what I have seen, Victory has the same attitude when it comes to problems that many Victory owners can't get resolved. That same attitude seems to be the same with the Victory insiders.
Most of us are just common folks who loving riding our Visions because it helps us escape the world of people who act like they have a corncob up their butt when it comes to common folk.
So bit me smartazz!
Why I as I responding to your haughty reply today?
Because a link that I bought up was broke a few weeks ago as being broke is still broke. Me thinks let the Kings Of Motorbikeing find it if they are some much better then we common folk.
BTW I aren't got no good English either.
But my money still spends like everyone else's.

Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | Hi Indian..
My post above was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I guess you din't get it.. which is fine... bigger concern I have... as you might expect..
"In the past I sent a couple emails asking a question about a product in the merchandise area. Didn't get a reply so I asked in a post. Still no reply." The only thing I can think of is that you sent using the "contact us" page several months back when it wasn't actually sending is the email. It was broke for several weeks but as most just send us email "webmaster@vision-riders.com" we didn't know about it until someone actually did that and told us.
As far a broken link... you still didn't mention what link is broken, and no one else has reported one. Also, on the product question... please feel free to send an email about that as well. Jedi and I answer a LOT of emails and even PM's (email will get to us much faster).
I happen to see this post, so I'm responding.. but the best was to get to us is with webmaster@vision-riders.com

Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | FWIW I decided to use my crappy customer service skills to look up what other link you reported. I found it. And it indeed was fixed, but the link you had posted in reporting it was still wrong (it had a typo) and I assume people were still trying to use it. So I edited your post ( http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3659&pos... ) and added the correct link. |
