Posts: 143 Sparta, WI | Best look for an alternative. I have the stock luggage rack (with limit of 20 pounds) and the chrome covering apparently is low grade. It looks all smoked up and tarnished and has since the first time I used it on a run to Sturgis in 08. Definitley not worth the investment. |

Unobtainium
When the original "Premium" Tours front forks didn't come chromed, Victory gave out a $250 accessories rebate. I bought the Trunk Rack. It sits in the plastic bubbling in the garage. The wife says the Vision just looks too damn good, and she doesn't want to risk putting the rack on.? She really loves the Vision's looks. More than any other bike yet.

| My wife is not find of the Visions looks. I am coming from a BMW LT and she keeps comparing. I tell her, it's like a second marriage, you can't compare the new one to the old one. Do and you'll never be happy. |

Posts: 460 Centennial, CO | My only issue with the OEM rack is the size. There really isn't much you can do. I DID see a pic of someone on here who purchased a rack from a GW that was slightly larger but the same mounting size. The only reason I didn't go down that road is simply that it was not the best looking rack I have seen. I am more a type of person for function over form. But the GW rack was not nearly enough function to overcome the form.
The quick release rack add on is not a bad idea. I am sure it works well...but I am no longer into a DIY fix. So, i go with the OEM and deal with the size. I tried several bags on mine while at the shop until I found one with a hard bottom that didn't worry so much about hanging over the edge a bit.
Now, where I really find the issue with the OEM is the fact that there are zero places to use a bungie cord. I played with several different ways of attaching a bag with bungies and such until I came to a good resolution.
I can say that I agree with most of the assessments above. I don't necessarily agree with the chrome look mentioned about one of them. Mine looks as good as the day I installed it with exception to the rubber on them that has been scratched by my inept ability to tie down the bag properly. |

I too have found that the chrome is a bit on the cheap side. Given the fact that the thing cost so much you would think that the chrome would be of a premium quality not peeling at the edges and inset area's??...well I guess there will be some powdercoating in the future. |

Posts: 388 Salisbury, NC | I went with the GW rack from J&P. 199.00. The round trunk bag from Kuryakyn fits well with plenty of places to tie the bag down. And with the way the front edge turns up, keeps stuff off the paint. ET |

I found that mine rattles below the lites on the trim. I've got to get some time to figure out how to hush it up. I'm thinking just some stick pad that will keep it from fluttering. I say a Vision yesterday with the GoldWing trunk rack and found it just as appealing as the OEM and may be more functional as well. I did cover more real estate, but it also looked like it was made for it.

For those not familiar with my racks and the details we get into, here's a taste for you of ones currently available for the Jackpots, Kingpins, and Vegas'.
