| It's about right. I got my SP for somewhat less, with 500 miles and a 5 yr warranty. |

| I love the Grey's look. I think its priced a couple grand too high going off KBB. I base that OPINION on the reality folks treat demo bikes like crap, ie not warmed up and throttled hard and other checking it out activities. |

At $15k it is barely even an "ok" deal. If it was a premium instead of a comfort it might possibly be a bit closer to a good deal though. Depends on the condition. But being a demo its safe to assume it has some scratches from clumsy feet and such.

| Not necessarily. I bought my 09 as a demo however not from a dealer. Some polaris rep who drove it from california to the factory in Minnesota and back. No scratches or any problems. But before I but that one I did look at an 08 that was a dealer demo used for customers and yes it had enough scratches to keep me away. |

Posts: 71 Willmar, MN | I bought my Premium for 15,900 in March. It was a demo (read owners bike) with 7000 miles. It came with a 5 year warranty and a few scuffs in the paint. It also came with all of the maintenance documentation. It was $3,500 less than a non demo and $7,000 less than an 09. After trading in my 2000 Nomad, I had a Vision for 11,000. I thought it was a good deal. I went over the scratches with Liquid Glass and they disappeared. This looks like a good deal also. |

| I have to agree, that's not a 'demo'... that's a used bike. The price may be about right but when I was shopping I saw '08 demos (less than 200 miles) of Tour Premiums selling in the $17K range with the 5 year warranty.

Posts: 742 North Orange County CA | My advise is check your local laws before you buy a new vehicle from an out of state dealer. The "Golden State" has some arcane rules designed to protect California car dealers from competitors in other states and life gets unique real fast if you don't know what you are signing up for.
5400 miles is a "new" motorcycle in California; where a bike must have 7500 miles to be considered used.
My understanding is that this rule means that you must pay sales tax and license fees on MSRP on any non-California titled vehicle with under 7500 miles regardless of actual selling price or actual age.
I made the mistake of purchasing a new (3 miles) pick-up from an Arizona dealer while on vacation a few years ago. The hoops that I had to jump through in order to get tags will keep me from ever buying a "new" vehicle from an out of state dealer again. I had to have the vehicle weighed at a "certified commercial scale". Even though it was a new vehicle and carried a 50 state emissions sticker from the factory I had to have it "smog tested". It also had to go through a safety inspection by a CHP officer. All of which required "fees".
This was before the local office would issue temp tags.
Then Sacramento jumped into the game. The main DMV office refused to issue permanent tags, and canceled my temporary tags. They then notified my insurance carrier that my tags had been suspended until they could get the original MSO (manufacturers certificate of origin) which was now in the hands of chrysler financial services along with the Arizona issued title. Arizona required that the vehicle be titled in AZ but I was assured by the dealer that this was not an issue.
After 6 months of bureaucratic runaround the only solution to this problem came at a large financial cost. I had to pay off the note at Chrysler credit to get the title and MSO so that the DMV would issue me tags. I was lucky that I was in a financial position to do that because the DMV would not accept copies of the paperwork and the originals had to be in my name in order for me to get tags. I could not refinance because the papers would never be issued in my name nor would they ever come directly to me but rather would go to the new financial institution keeping me from getting the papers to the DMV.
In the immortal words of the ancient Romans "Caveat Emptor".
