Does anybody use Sta-Bil in their Vision to treat the Gas during the Winter? I use it in everything else that sits for long periods, but was just wondering if there would be any problem in the Vision. Last Winter I used Polaris Carbon Clean Fuel Treatment, but it's quite a bit higher than Sta-Bil.

Sta-Bil is a gasoline fuel stabilizer, the other pruduct you mentioned is a combustion chamber and injector cleaner. I have Sta-Bil in everything including all my bikes and intend to use it in the Vision.

Ok, thanks! I figured the Sta-Bill would be alright to use. The "Polaris Carbon Clean Fuel Treatment" says on the bottle that it's also a Fuel Stabilizer.

I've used Sta-Bill on my Victorys for the last 10 years. Works fine. But then again, so doesn't riding it in the cold weather!

Add a few tablespoons full of marvel mystery oil. Works great as a winter fuel additive. Also great for adding to the gear box before an oil change. About 2 tablespoons full, ride the bike a few miles and then change the oil. Helps break down the glazing on the clutch plates.

I've used Marvel Mystery in the fuel before to clean and lubricate the system, but not in the oil. May give that a try. Thanks!

I've been using sta-bil for many years, but I didn't use it in my Vision last year. Why? Because every sunny day over 32°, I took it out for a ride instead.

I'm a little wimpy when it comes to cold weather so it has to be a little warmer than 32°. Well,........a lot warmer. lol.

Just remember, no matter what you use in the tank, it doesnt help if its not in the Carbs or injection system. After you are satisfied with the amount in the tank, run the bike for a while to ensure the mix is throughout he system .

Also Sta-bil has a new product out. It comes in a green bottle for marine use. I think they came out with it to compete with StarBrite. What iI heard is StarBrite has an enzyme in it to remove ethanol from the fuel. I heard ethanol is breaking down fiberglass tanks. Really sucks for fiberglass boats that use the hull as part of the fuel cell.
A thread I found on it. http://www.starbrite.com/whatsnew/Startron_Story_V2.pdf
I use Sta-bil in all my equipment but may have to rethink now?

Ethanol has become a huge issue in the marine industry, I have has my issues with it breaking down fuel lines and what a mess to get straightened out. I am luckier than others with composite gas tanks have had to have them replaced. Big expense! I used the green to help resolve moisture issues but I store with the red. There is really no good method for storing this crap gas we get today with 10% Ethanol. Your best bet is to find fuel with out Ethanol for your winter storage. Do some reading on what happens to this crap fuel over the winter regardless of what you add. Since I end up with about 50 gal in the boat at the end of the year I started draining the tanks, I know opinions on this vary.

Since letting anything sit for a long period is not good, why don't all you northern riders ship your bike to me for the winter. I ride everyday and I can take turns riding a different one each day. I've got a 19 year old son that would help in this venture as well, making sure each of your Visions get rode at least once a week. See. There, problem solved. Oh, and, no charge either, you pay the shipping to and fro.

I use Sta-Bil, and a Little Sea Foam. Also use Sea Foam or Carbon Clean once in a while to clean things up. Also sometimes put a little Sea Foam in the oil just prior to warming the engine up for an oil change. Hoping that this will disolve some of the gunk deposits in the oil system and the clutch. Have been doing this for years on the KP with no adverse effects I can detect, and never any clutch slippage.

I've been using sta-bil on all bikes including Victorys with no problem for years.

Careful with that mystery oil stuff. Back in the day I added some to the oil in my Yamaha 920.

-And I was replacing the clutch 2 weeks later. I won't make that mistake again..

+1. I use Seafoam in all of my equipment from Bikes to lawnmowers. Whatever gets stored for the winter. All of them start up nicely come Springtime!

In that case, I think I'll stick with the Mystery Oil in the gas. Don't want to be replacing the clutch anytime soon. Thanks!!!
