Picked up my new 2009 (build date Aug 2008??) Tour Premium (first big bike) and love it. Getting used to slow speed handling will take some time. Did not even consider or test ride H-D because I loved the looks of the Vision from day one. I don't mind my four H-D riding stepsons calling me George, but I'm tired of hearing them sing the theme song offkey.
Questions/Comments:
1) The back half of my black front fender is painted FLAT black. Is there a purpose for this? It would look better in gloss.
2) I miss my "pass to flash" button. I used to use this entering busy intersections. Other that that, awesome lighting.
3) Love electronic cruise control. Same for the radio.
4) Reverse was back ordered. Dealer was unable to quote installation hours. He said it will be their first (J&W Cycles in Washington, Mo). Anybody know? They charged me $1,260 for the part.
5) Sign me up for the next Cam Party, in the midwest! What is the best exhaust to install with the Kevinx job?
6) Geting 44.6 mpg riding 35 to 60 mph twisties.
7) The free 5 year warranty was the clincher.
Thanks for your feedback.

1. The rear part of the front fender is flat black on all models. I think it's actually the fender liner. Only the front part is visible, really, so I don't even notice it.

2. My wife has the "flash to pass" button on her Suzuki. I'm not sure she's ever used it lol. Never had it on any bike I've had. Not sure where you would put it on the Vision as that's where the info center button is.

3. Cruise and radio are awesome, alright. First bike I've had with either. Gotta watch the singing at intersections.

4. Let me know on the reverse labor. I'll probably be ordering it as well one of these days.

Oh, and welcome to the club from up north a bit. I get the Jetsons thing all the time as well. I think my friend with the Valkyrie is secretly wanting a Vision, however, he just can't admit it yet.

On the Jetson's thing, Radioteacher Paul actually has the theme song downloaded and on his IPod. Whenever he gets "lookers" or especially kids haning around and checking out his bike, he plays that theme song--pretty cool!

Cometman - 2009-09-23 11:40 AMI have the Star Trek theme playing when I start up my Vision....

I've got the jetson, batman, top gun theme, i've been everywhere, the imperial march, cheech doing the "okay, man, start it up", I feel the need for speed, danger zone, the motorcycle song and victory ring tones under my theme playlist. Now I've got to get the Star Trek theme...

also, the quote from The Motion Picture when kirk is asked for a heading "Out there, thataway" would be nice too!

Congrats on the new ride Bluegill....

I have the Judge Dread sound bit "I am the LAWWR!" on my mp3 player. One of my brothers gave me that nickname due to the Vision. Kinda cool to ride up and hit the play button with the volume up loud.

I've had a few opportunities when someone on a H-D called me George.  My response, "George? Then you must be Fred".

 "Fred?  I'm not Fred."

 "Fred Flintstone".

Naturally, I'm proud of this comeback.  It makes me snicker for miles.......
