I'm going to be putting my 550 on the bike.

What's the easiest place or where is the easiest place I should say to tap into switched power?

Thanks!

I tapped into the stock GPS lead which on the 09 is Brown/Pink and then I ran the other to ground.

Works great! Will have to take some pictures but not until I get my mount from AZ Vic. Right now just using the Ram ball mount.

So will you get the audio prompts over the radio/intercom system as you would with the 2820??? I have a Zumo 550 and was wondering if I could use it with all the BELLS and WHISTLES working??

For simple switched power you canm remove the panel in front of the seat, and get power/ground from the greay 2 wire conector

Right now I have everything going through the AUX input (I have a GXM on my Zumo). I plan to run the radar detector to the stock GPS 2820 mono wires. It is my understanding that any sound signal coming through those wires will override other sounds (I definitely want to hear the radar detector).

I've thought about the new iPod connector (I use an iPhone) but I don't see myself using it as much as the GXM so for now everything will stay through AUX and controlled through the Zumo.

I also have Autocom from my old bike. I plan on putting this in so I can talk to my passenger. I will run an Amplirider (from Electric Avenues) to it so that my passenger can listen to their own music in headphones while I listen to wat ever I want through speakers.

I think the JM systems can do this now but I don't want to change what I have and instead will figure out how to make work what I have.

When it is all said and done here is what I expect to have:

XM through GXM/Zumo AUX connection for solo riding.
Passenger iPhone/music source through Amplirider and Autocom with separate volume for in helmet speakers.
Radar through stock 2820 mono wires.

The only thing that I won't be able to make work is to have passenger rider ability to speak while the passenger listens to own source and I want to listen to bike speakers. At that point I would have to disconnect (or put in an on/off switch in) my headset to not hear passenger's source and by doing so we won't have the ability to talk without me reconnecting.

This is a great suggestion and I believe it is for a powerlet outlet. I will later run my heated warm&safe gear through that connection.
