Posts: 311 Atlanta Area | They both use the same OEM can, they both use a 2.25 inch baffle or your choice of a 2 inch or 1.5 inch on the Atom Bombs depending on your taste for sound level... The Atom Bombs are about half the price of the Honkers. All your paying for on the Atom Bombs is the rework of your stock cans and shipping... |

Posts: 432 Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | So Adam if you have the 2.25 inch baffle are they too loud to tour with? I know most believe the Big Honkers to drone and be loo loud. I also know the way the baffle is made and the packing can make a very large difference in sound. Any thoughts? I am not real impressed with the L2 pipes.

| I know what you mean Walt. I also have the S1L2 pipes and they are NOT even close to what I had expected. They are not even close to the sound of the D&D's I had on my '03 TC...and I didn't believe they were that great either. I wish I could hear several of the different exhausts in person so I wouldn't have to take a chance and spend hundreds of dollars first. I have come close to taking a chance on the Honkers several times but I keep thinking that any day now there will be a break through exhaust system that will blow me away. Aint holdin my breath though!! There just has GOT to be a system out there that sounds great on the Vision.....please let me know if you find it! |

FYI, the Honkers have (at least mine do) a 2.25" dia short louvered baffle, exiting into a conical shaped tube, mounted inside the straight outer body.

Walt,
I have 15K on the Atom Bombs at this point and I don't feel they have a "drone" to them. If you are worried about drone, you could always choose a smaller diameter baffle that will be a bit quieter. The Atom Bombs do have ceramic thread packing inside the can. Bob says it should last the lifetime of the pipe... |
