Posts: 226 on the edge of Los Angeles | Picked up a 04 Kingpin for the wife thats just a great bike. We really want a Cross Country but this way we can ride until they arrive and we can Demo them. This Kingpin needs a rear Brake Rotor does anyone have a suggestion for a source I seem to remeber a parts house mentioned?? Gotta say its a fun ride and once we took off the side bags, rear seat and rack it a real good looking machine. I dont think the HD dealer knew what its potential was and If I bring it back to them they would think its a different bike.

| My dealer just sold a Kingpin, new leftover (08) for 10k. Black paint and a small chip on the end of the rear fender but still a steal. I've ridden a KP Tour multiple times when my Vision was in for repairs and I like the bike, but the bike wanted to fight me a little in the corners (not sure why). I've got my eye on the Cross Country, might have to trade the Vision, maybe, lol |

Posts: 226 on the edge of Los Angeles | Totally understand the corner thing on the Kingpin as you mentioned. Sounds like you got the screamin deal on the 08. Funny thing about trade in of your Vision cause if the XC was available when I got the Vision I think I really would have gotten the XC.
The Kingpin is fun and much more sporty to blast around on but the Vision based chassis/ bike simply blows it away in overall performance that I think most posters here understand.
Dont know what I will do with the KP if we decide to get a Cross Country but its real nice and I Have a pic from this weekend.

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | Gotta say if you are having trouble in corners on a KP; then you need to loosen up, and change your style a bit. The KP is a fantastic handleing, and beutifully performing bike. I just put 3K on a Vision last week, and still would rather ride my KP |

That is a nice looking bike for being 5 years old.

| I can't believe anybody would say the Kingpin is a ill-handling bike. I loved my 05 and sometimes i really wish i never got rid of it. I bought the Vision for the fairing and radio. I f the Crossroads was out then.........it would have been a no brainer for me. Don't get me wrong and start freeking out on me....the Vision is an AWESOME bike, but................ sometimes it's just.................how do i say........to grandpa for me. Please no one take offense to this, i just think the Kingpin and Crossroad-Crosscountry are BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Dealer gave me a new King Pin as a loaner while he installs new cams in my 09 Vision. Have about 100 miles on it, very good handling and very satble at speed. Like it!! |

| The KP I ride when my vision is in is a pre-owned bike. The guy changed bars and the seat which might explain the fight in corners. Don't get me wrong it isn't an "oh my god I'm going off the road" type fight, but a definite resistance. Anyhow looks like you got a good deal and a nice looking bike. Your new dilema will be to keep or part, lol... |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | The Vision is the only bike that I've hopped on and took right too it. because of the nimbleness of the bike and the sensitivity in riding, it took me a week or so to get use to the windy conditions. Now I can handle them with no rider input on the bars. Having test riden both the Kingpin, Vegas and Vegas low, I like the way all the Vic's handle. I think it is a matter of perception as even from riding the wing for two straight years, there were times I felt like it was my first time riding, something I don't experience with the Vic's.
So to say one is over another is in the thigh of the beholder... |
