| I've HEARD that the Shinko tires wear out really fast but they grip well (couple friends on sports bikes run them). There are several reviews on the Bridgestone tires on the Goldwing forums, not real positive but ok. Read some of the purchaser comments on the bike tire sites, they are generally honest.
I just put the Avon Cobra AV71 on the front of my Vision and it seriously outperforms the E3 (3k miles). No raised center strip which I really like. Cost from my dealer was $130 but shop it around the net if you have time. Rear is the AV72 I believe. These are the "new" avon series that Ness is putting on his bikes. The load rating is a little lower than the E3. They handle rain without slip or wandering (I never drop speed for rain) and tar snakes are less noticeable. In fact the bike tracks much better on grating, checkering and steel bridges in my opinion. |

| I am thinking of replacing my back tire with an Avon tire due to a nail. After reading your message, I will replace the front one too. How long have you had the Avon tires? |

| Make sure you check the fitment guides, and verify the load ratings. The cheaper tires usually have a much lower load rating.
I looked around for cheaper tires for my TC. I put a set of Maxxis tires on and they were cheap, but they did not last as long as the original Dunlops. I next put a set of Dunlop E3's on, and the rear tire was .5 inches wider than the OEM, but it had a 90lb higher load rating. For about $20 extra it was worth it to me, it wore really good.
