When I ordered parts for my accident repair I wasnt sure if the left rear hinge was damaged or not. At less than $10 each I figured what the heck and ordered one. Went to put it on today in prep for when my panels come back from paint. I noticed the holes are oblong now. Looks like they have room for some adjustment. I'll keep all posted on whether it improves lid alignment.

I would LOVE to take pictures but we just moved and my lovely wife assures me the camera is not lost... she just doesnt know where it is at this time. If you've watched radioteachers video on grinding the panel to allow the hinge extention to close all the way? I believe this will eliminate that need. If you look at the extentions. They have welded nuts on the backside. These nuts should have been rotated just a little so that the FLAT side of the nut would align against the inner body panel. As it is the pointed part of the nut hits the panel before closing completely. Elongating the hinge holes vertically allows enough adjustment that the hinge closes completely. I have yet to bolt the lid on. But I'm convinced There will be more adjustability with this hinge. My wife says she would have just twisted the nut. Thats her cure for EVERYTHING!

FYI on the new hinges. They are better. Not perfect. They allow more up and down adjustment of the lid but still require shims for in and out adjustment. If your looking for a cure-all for bag alignment, this aint it. If you have dremeled for clearence as per the video, this hinge wont improve anything. Wish I had better news. But thats it.
