Does anyone know if you can get the grab handle eliminators pre-painted anywhere. Since I have my bike all pulled apart I was going to put those on before I put it back together and didn't want to wait on paint.

They only come flat dull black from Arlen Ness. But maybe they can paint them before they ship them? But it would probably be cheaper to have a local collision facilty paint them for you. What color you looking for?

Im looking for black. I searched around the net last night and couldn't find any other the Ness's and other companies drop shipping from him. I guess I will just order them and paint them at the same time I paint everything else. Just had the back end of the bike off and figured I would replace them now. Easy enough to do it again later.

Jeff-

Just an FYI....in case ya weren't aware....

It isn't nec. to disassemble the rear in order to remove the grab handles. Take a look at page 2 of the "Naked Pictures" album in my photo gallery here. You will see some pictures showing where you can grind/notch out a small plastic area by the saddlebag lock and then you can get a wrench in there and remove the grab handle bolts. Saves a lot of time and frustration.

Another option to toss out....since we are talking black. And if your rear end is going to be tore down for a few more days.

Order the covers from Ness and throw a quick coat of paint on them using an aerosol can. This will get you by until you are ready to paint everything.

And I did some searching on these a few months ago. Not positive but I'm pretty sure that http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/ had the lowest shipped price.

Yea I have seen a couple of people mention that, but was looking last night at how the handles are mounted and it isn't to bad to take them off with out cutting the hole. Looks like 6 bolts to get the aluminum panel off once you have the back end off then unbolt the handles. I am gonna order the eliminators and have them painted at the same time I do the rest of the stuff, I am just trying to decide if I am going to black out the bike first or wait and do it all the same time I do graphics.

My list is getting longer, and everytime I look at the bike I find something else I want to change.
