Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I'm wondering how it will affect the lean angle and the belly height? Not a big deal overall, but the only time I laid down a bike is when I leaned hard on a left turned and hit a dip at the same time. The centerstand tang hit the road and raised the rear tire of the ground, BAM.
Also, the wing was always scrapping over speed bumps because of the center stand. I want the convenience, but I've not missed one not being on the Vision.
Hope you all give good reports so I can make up my mind to add another 3 pounds to my bike...or me... |

| I posted about this last week over at the VMC, from the picture it looks to be articulated in a different fashion than most center stands. I wonder if this is to allow for a closer fit when it is up and you are riding? |

Posts: 354 20 miles west of Chicago. | Sounds like a really good good idea if it doesn't affect ground clearance too badly. The Vision does not seem to lean very much on the sidestand and I've had a few iffy moments parking on pavement (and gravel/dirt) where the ground slopes upward on the kickstand side, like on heavily crowned roadways. It looks like the center stand's wider base would be more stable. |

Maybe if someone around there has a local dealership with one in stock or a mechanic that knows where this thing is bolting up, they can share that info? With Polaris, I wouldnt doubt it if you had to drill and tap threads into the engine mount and/or swingarm. LOL Wouldn't be the first or last time that an accessory came with instructions that included cutting or drilling out areas for mounting. This thing would make changing the rear tire a lot easier. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | it looks like it mounts to the rear of the engine with the cross over dipping down in the middle. The tang will then be just forward of the left tipover, poking up slightly. That's my guess. I believe there is holes already there cause I wouldn't want to drill them myself. |

Getting a 500-600 lb bike onto a center can take some technique... an 800+ lbs fully loaded might be a chore. Moto Guzzi (those silly Italians) have it down to a science. It's so easy to lift my Convert onto the center stand that I use it more than the side stand cause it's actually easier to deal with. The Silverwing requires technique as you have to grap the grab-rails and pull straight up while stepping on the tang of the center-stand. From that picture above, I can't imagine putting a vision up on the center stand being an easy task. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | I was hoping they would do something like the centerstand that Kawasaki used on the old Voyager XII bikes that employed a 2-step design. You put the mainstand down, which didn't raise the bike, then you stepped on the lift lever which cammed the bike up onto the stand. It is VERY easy to put a Voyager XII on the centerstand, and my old Voyager XII weighed 800 pounds before we put any junk in the trunk.
Like others, I'm hoping someone will volunteer to be the new product tester for the new Vision centerstand and report back to the rest of us.

| I like a center stand for getting the bike level to check the oil, etc...It gets the rear wheel off the ground for brake maintenance or wheel cleaning without having to jack the bike up. Takes up less room in the garage. If you're slightly creative you can get the front wheel off the ground too. Other stuff. |

Posts: 266 Stockton, Ca. | It would be cool if they did it like the BMW LT. The center stand is automatic, not sure if it is hydrolic or electric but it is effortless to use. One of my riding buddies has one. For now I use a wheel chock or a center jack to get the bike upright for wheel cleaning, checking oil etc. When it is time to change the rubber pad on your side stands a center stand would be nice. The center jack gets in the way. |

| Having reverse, I don't really think it would help with the centerstand and would at best be risky and awkward.
Once the rear wheel comes off the ground, reverse would be useless and with Victory's reverse being so much slower than the Goldwing's, momentum wouldn't be there.
What the Vision needs is one like BMW has.

"That's what they make dealers and detailers for" Holy crap! I must have had blinders on for my 25 years of riding street bikes. That's the very first time I've ever heard of someone having their bike detailed.
No offense, but this just seems so wrong. On so many levels. |
