On the driver seat area a seam in the vinyl is splitting out from the thread holes. It isn't very much yet and only from a few stitch holes but I know it will progressively get worse. Has anyone had this problem? My concern is Victory won't cover it under warranty even though I have extended warranty. I know a seat is a normal wear item but really should a seat be deteriorating that soon? My Vision has always been covered or in the garage, very seldom exposed to the weather other than when I am riding.

My seat looks brand new at 6300 miles, on my 08. Sorry to hear about yours. It's hard to imagine that this can occur, whether it's vinyl or leather with (normal) use.For what it's worth, I would check with the dealer, for sure, to see if it's covered.

you might be able to go to a fabric store and get a fix for it before it unravels more, like a discreet button that can be done without undoing the stitching. I don't know, just guessing at what I would do if I was in your shoes.

We've got a JoAnn's Fabric that all kinds of stuff that might work.

It don't take much and I'm guessing you're not the only one.

Crawford:

I have used the type of kit sold here to good effect in the past. These use either solvent "weld" technology or by heating the vinyl compound with an small iron and "graining paper" to fuse the uncured pvc compound into the area needing repair.

I have never used it on a splitting seam so I cant tell you how successful it will be; but if it works it would be significantly cheaper than a re-cover.

Good luck.

Crawford, nope the ext warranty won't cover that, only breakdown stuff. Good excuse to have the seat recovered in leather.....

rldr12 is your Vision seat heated? How do you like the Corbin seat? It is about the same price as the replacement Vision seat which I would not get unless I was to get a deal like your's. I would either buy a Corbin or recover with leather. I will keep your offer in mind once I see what's going to happen. I will be spending two weeks in the saddle, I'll see how it holds up.

Crawford you've got many miles and the only one who knows is you. You could buy that other seat while you had yours leathered then I could get from you when done so i could get mine leathered then I could pass it along....

Anybody know of a good leather upholsterer in Canada or State side? Good and cheap with emphasizes on GOOD. Looks like it could be the start of a chain of leather re-upholstered Vision seats. Who's turn is it after varyder?

This may be the best way to go and wind up with a far superior seat for the least amount of cash and an opportunity to remove a bit of foam to lower the over all height of the bike. I don't think I would miss an inch of foam in the driver's seat.

The guy I know does a decent job but I hear there is one that is better. Let me check and see what's going on with him. I should find out something this week here in Central Virginia.
