Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I'm curious as how Harley can keep all the old models of bikes and introduce new models in the midst of their worst down-turn. Seems to me the investors would be telling them to trim down until they could get back on their feet again.
The last time I was at the local HD dealer they had a large inventory of bikes, but their inventory of Vespas had increased as well and were hightlighted by placing them up front. When you walk in all you see is a line of Vespas with all the HD's behind. |

That is where they make all their money, you know. |

Posts: 447 Northeastern Penna. | Anyone find out a price on the 2010 Vision, yet ? Does it look like the Vision will be shipped to dealers minus the heated seats, power windshield, ABS and reverse. You then choose what you want as an option and they add up the price? Dazed and confused , I can't take this. |

My next focus is the 2012 or beyond model, unless of course it's a V8 then it don't matter on that other stuff as it don't come widit. |

| Harleys able to keep their lineup because they are selling bikes, LOTS of bikes. I've been watching to see what impact this economy has had and there are a few places where HD sales are slow, but for the most part the dealers are selling what they have and then some.
My understanding is the Vision still comes like it did if you purchased a premium tour already, pwr ws, seat, grips, etc... The V8 is lower, no hydro clutch, cruise or any other toys, very minimalistic. The Ness Vision gets lowered an inch this year and new colored paint. |

something doesn't add up in my mind. Though 260,000 bikes is a lot of bikes, it is going down and is down 30% from the previous quarter. So that is a green light to keep the old lines and introduce new ones. Sooner or later you will have to pay the piper when the fat lady sings, or something like that. |
