Some people seem to get the impression that the Cross Roads is just a warmed-over Kingpin. That might be an easy assumption to make until you see them side by side. I've always been a fan of the Kingpin but the bags on the Tour model looked like a total afterthought. A major design killer in making it look right was the dual exhaust on the right side. That really limited it's role a a true bagger. Even if the saddlebags hold more than they seem, the scale is off for the bag size compared to the rest of the bike. The Cross Roads is color-matched and the huge bags flow perfectly with the lines of the bike. So far this comparison is 100% about the looks. It doesn't even take into account how different they are under the skin with the "Core" frame compared to the steel tubing. Just a warmed-over Kingpin? Decide for yourself. Now, let this smokin' hottie recreate this shot with her straddling a Cross Roads and you'd better find a mop to clean up all the drooling. Class dismissed. |
