When can we see in person and test ride?? |

Posts: 297 VA | Not to be negative, because I do love my Vision, but doesn't some of these models just look like they are sticking parts from other models together to make a "new" model. I can see the appeal of the cross country. The Vision's styling is radical for most people. Some like that (I bought one), but others don't, I would think most of the HD owners. But, what gets me is that the dash is just the Vision dash put onto this new model. I can't see the frame, so maybe it really is totally different.
I know they do this, and not really complaining, options are great. But this is taking a page from HD. They change one or two things, then call it a new bike. The cross country does look like a KP with a fairing, and then the floorboards from the Vision. Even the passenger pegs came from the Vision.
I know they are trying to control costs, and in this economy they need to find ways to make more money without laying out money for a totally new concept. But, it seems like it'd be fairer to call it a Kingpin cross country, or a naked Vision, something like that. Just hate to see them go down that road. Although, I do realize the Kingpin was a Vegas with a few more things, so maybe they've been doing it all along. I don't know. Just my thoughts on it. |

Posts: 226 on the edge of Los Angeles | Like the Vision these two new models will need to be ridden to appreciate. I hope they impress us away like the Vision already has..
As far as using like parts from other models it makes sense in todays economy.
Same Parts or different parts I cant wait to ride one.
Hey Victory where do I need to go for a test ride? |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | After riding an e-glide, the KP bags never looked large enough to carry much. HD had to have had some of the largest bags on a motorcycle. I think the Crosscountry just moved into first place. An e-glide style bike with modern flair. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | marc, you have the same thoughts i have about a lot of things. but the bottom line most bikes are just variations of another bike. i think the issue is how do you take the victory styling, keep that, and make it different. i actually thought that the vision was radically different in the design of all the other victory bikes until i saw a picture of a vision and other victory bikes together. it was very apparent that the vision is just a variation and not different of all the other bikes in styling. everything about the vision is built around the lines of the other victory models. i still today have a hard time trying to distinguish between a jackpot, vegas or hammer. okay, you long time vic riders know at a glance, my first victory is a vision.
so while we may lament that there is too much similarities in the new bikes, i see them in a niche that will be stern competition with HD as it is mentioned on the video on motorcycle.com. Sometimes change is taking the best of both world's and putting them together.

| I'm not going to bust on anyones opinion about utilizing parts from another model in creating a new, BUT I will ask you to consider something NOT mentioned already. If for example Victory were to use the floorboards from the Vision on other models it first saves the company a bunch of money (previously mentioned) BUT more importantly it save YOU the consumer a bunch of money. Ever notice that HD accessories are WAY cheaper than Victory accessories and there is a lot more after market? The reason is they are multi-fit instead of being limited to one model. FURTHER after market companies are MORE willing to invest in making parts if there is a LARGER number of folks likely to buy those aftermarket parts. It is simple supply and demand. So perhaps being economically grounded has forced Victory to see th light, or at least we can hope. Ride safe and I am so gonna have a deal worked out on the Black/Graphite Cross Country before the weeks out. |

| Guys, don't get me wrong here, I absolutely LOVE the new Cross Country from Victory as next year I was going to add a Kingpin Tourer (minus the trunk) to my garage and now it looks like I'll probably be adding a Cross Country instead, but when viewed head on doesn't the headlight with the turn signals kinda look like a character out of South Park? |
