I called around for quotes on the 2,500 mile service.  Dothan, AL quoted $130.00.  My dealer (Freeport, FL) quoted $230.00 and said there is no way Dothan can do everything required by Polaris in less than 2 hours (he was including adjusting the drive belt).  I called Pensacola--$130.00.  Asked if that included adjusting the drive belt and he said yes if it needed it.  Finally I called Baldwin County, AL--$97.00.  I explained the above and he said oil, filter, inspect, adjust and out the door in 15 minutes.

I've left a message for the owner at Freeport to call me.  I bought the damn bike there, it's closest and needless to say I'm more than a little disappointed.  I'm sure they can give me lists and book times to justify the $230.00 but as I explained to the service manager, if you put many miles on (and what else is the Vision for) it's almost like making another payment if you have them do all the factory recommended service every 2,500 miles.  He even said the 5K service was more and I paid $280.00 for the 500 mile.

I know I can do my own oil change but I'll pay $130.00 for the satisfaction of knowing (hoping?) a qualified tech has checked out my bike.  I'll post what the Freeport owner tells me but now I guess the question is 130 or 97?

We charge 1 hour plus oil, filter, and washer. The 08-09 do not have the same requirements such as cabls to lube etc. I do pull the levers, clean, and lube thier piot point's. Adjust the belt. Lube the throttle body moving parts, check the tires, do the basic inspections, and lube the pivot points, and kickstand. 15 minutes is not enough time to even cover the basics, but 2 hours is to long. On the previous years we charge two hours, but that also included pulling\lubing the cables, and inspect the TPS adjustment

Thanks for the info.  I've got an '09.

Do you sell (or know of) a "flat fee" service package through the end of the 5 year warranty?  I've seen it discussed on this board but one of the dealers I talked to never heard of it and I didn't think to ask the others.

Might look at the dealerships website and see if they have any discount service coupons or as Ron White would say "KOOPONSSSSS".
