Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | Now i know Dakota Digital has been around for awhile, and has some good gauges but who the heck proof reads their descriptions...If I was the head of the company I sure as hell would be pissed at the errors made. Sorry for the rant but come on...And i would have to hear user reports before I would buy it. Thinking of going with an external antenna, but still just thinking.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | i personally think it has nothing to do with the antenna and has more to do with the radio. i installed a POWERED antenna on my vision over the winter and it barely made a different at all.. WB works alittle better got a few more stations in "while standing still" but it wasnt no where near as clear as my bone stock cars radio. Not even close. |

Posts: 301 Buffalo Grove,Ill | I took the front "Wing" off my 08, peeled the stock antenna off and relocated it up under the dash away from the aluminum and it helped. Its still not great but it is a little better.
They say the stock antenna utilizes the metal from the front wing. Hey Victory, Uh no it doesn't ! ITS ALUMINUM !! |

Wow, I guess every fortune 500 company, news paper or magazine has never had a misspelled word. Pretty strong comment about buying from them. I have done business with them in the past (yes, they are one of the few that actually make things for Vics), great stuff, great support and actually responded to a e-mail I sent them within 15 minutes after sending it.
Here is what they said:
Frank,
We have not heard of someone putting one on a Vision but it should be no different than any other bike or car. The cable end is the standard size used for years, but some radio manufacturers have made slimmer plug that require one to pick up an adapter form a car stereo shop. |

Posts: 460 Centennial, CO | Go to your local marine (boat) shop and ask them for a powered antenna. 12 (TWELVE) bucks!
It doesn't help all that much and for 80 bucks, you can buy more chrome and use your IPOD. |

| I have a similar antenna, its not the same brand, but it looks identical to the Dakota. The cable is much longer so I was able to mount the box inside my tourpak on the lid. It works better but still not what I was expecting. According to the car audio shop where I purchased it, this is what they use on all the high end cars that they don't want to put antenna's on. My personal opinion....not worth the money! |
