I know a few here have had work done to seat to revover or modify the seat. Has anyone noticed the seat heating elements? Check Corp makes the elements for a lot of bikes and they look alot like a heating pad element in that the heating wires are enclosed in a plastic rather than the wires layed withing a foam covering. I would like to modify the rear seat and posibly add gel but before tearing into the seat would like to know beforehand if midification is possible without damage to the elements.

OK just got a callback from Check Corp and it is amazing what know about their bussiness. They told me that the Vision Motorcycle seat is manufactured in Japan and more than likely will not tolerate removal of the heating elements without damage to the wires. My goal first off was to do some resaping of the passenger seat and remove the tipped up lip that the wife says causes her to slip forward. I can use the check elements but by the time I add the elements and gel I would be getting close to the cast of a Russell Day Long.

I'm not sure the manufacture is 100% on this one guys. I had Rich's Custom Saddles completely rework my saddle, setting me back 2 inches and up 1". They re-installed the factory heat and everything works well. Here is the link to Rich's. http://www.richscustomseats.com/ good luck
