For the second time since I've owned my bike, I've been burned by 2 graphics artists on commission, so I'm pretty much done persuing that avenue. My Dad used to run a body shop and told me I'd be better off if we just shot it ourselves. I've been doing the research and found that a lot of paint systems are not compatible with OEM paint bases. Example: HOK states it's "wet" paints are not generally compatible with other paints. My question is this: Does anyone know for a fact what paint systems are compatible with Victory's color coats? I just wanna do something with some pearls over what I have. I don't wanna reinvent the wheel and go down past the color coat. Any info is appreciated.

I have been doing body and paint work for a living for about 20 years. The paint on the vision is completly cured and you should have no problem scuffing and painting what you want over the top of the oem finish.

Hey thanks Joe. I'll keep that in mind. I'm just looking to do a little Pearl work. I think I'll order the clear from Victory. Not sure as I'm still kinda researching this.

Test things out on the little panel behind the dash that way if something goes wrong you can replace/repaint cheaply.

I'm no expert on the subject but what Joe H. said is correct. To add another color all you will have to do is sand down the clear coat and spray on what you want. When complete re-apply clear coat. I have a friend that has painted about 10 vics and this is the process he has used with good results. I don't know what brand of clear coat he uses but I know he does not get it from Victory. I'm sure Joe could recommend a quality clear coat. (I've seen his work on a vic and it looks awesome!)
