Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | J& M Corporation is now offering some new accessories for the Vision including new replacement speakers that improve the sound quality a lot at higher volumes. Here is a link to the webpage. http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=34 They don't have the pricing listed yet but I talked to them today and they offer a pair for the front at $89.99 and a pair for the rear for $89.99. They said you don't get the distortion at higher volumes that you get on the stock speakers and they are more efficient so you get more volume.
They also now have the lower headset cable for the Vision so you can use any of their headsets on the Vision. They will also have a lower cable available within a couple of months that will allow you to plug in your headphones that have a 3.5mm stereo plug. They are also working on a Bluetooth solution for the Vision.
The owner of J&M has a Vision on order and they all think the Vision is a really cool bike.

Here are the specs on the J&M Speakers. Rated @ 2Ohms, the OEM amplifier better be pretty stable. They don't publish the efficiency rating or frequency response curve.

Our wide fidelity fairing speaker upgrades for the 2008 Victory® Vision will allow the volume to be adjusted to maximum at highway speeds, without distortion.
They feature the same exact dimension mounting hole pattern and electrical spade lug size/polarity as the stock speakers, to make installation a snap.
Rated at 2 ohms impedance (2.6 ohms actual) and 140 watts max power, they feature a very thin, hard, injection molded polycarbonate cone, titanium colored dust cover, super flexible rolled edge, high sensitivity voice coil and high flux strength Neodymium magnet structure, to provide for maximum air movement, along with superior response.
You will be impressed by the significant improvement in volume and sound quality while riding your Vision. ((sold in pairs))

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | Thanks Tim. They must have just gotten this up on their site.
One of my concerns is that these speakers don't have a integrated tweeter and I would like to make sure I get good high frequencies also. I have been looking at the Hog Tunes speakers also. http://www.hogtunes.com/speakers.htm They have a powerful integrated tweeter and seem to have a lot larger magnet all for about the same price. Having the best sound I can get is really important to me.

| They should publish a frequency response graph (an non-exaggerated one =) to compare apples to apples.
Which were you looking at, the 5.75 Ohms or the 2 Ohms HogTunes? The 2Ohm HogTunes will source more power through the amp than the J&M 2.6Ohms. I don't know how stable the Vision's OEM amplifier is with low impedance speakers.
None of the companies are publishing the speaker's sensitivity ratings either, thus it makes it hard to determine how loud they will get with a given amount of power.
FWIW, cages and motorcycles are the wrong venues for a good sound system.

| Found the specs for the HogTunes:
http://www.hogtunes.com/specs.htm
Their sensitivity is 89db 1 Watt - 1 Meter.
Frequency rage is 55Hz to 21KHz.
45 Watts RMS, 90 Watts Peak power handing.
The HogTunes speakers look deeper, thus need to make sure the Vision's housings can accommodate the extra depth.

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | What I am trying to determine is which speakers will provide the best sound. The Hog Tunes speakers should provide a better high end due to the integrated tweeter. The guys at Hog Tunes emailed me back and they think their speakers will work and they will let me try them to make sure. I believe the 2 ohm set is what they are thinking for the Vision.

| J&M responded that they do not have the additional specs for the speaker (frequency range and sensitivity).
Sorry, not much help.

| Arlen Ness is coming out with a Hawg Wired upgrade for the Vision that contains speakers and an external amplifier. I believe HotTunes is working on something for the Vision as well. HTH, Tim
