Posts: 75 McHenry, IL | First off, WOW! What a machine! I came off a VTX1800 (put 75,000 miles on her in 5 years). The Vision doesn't have the "pull your shoulders out of the sockets" torque the Honda has but that isn't really my typical riding style. Of course, I don't have to tell you all about how great a machine the Vision is!
Anyways, on to my question. Does anyone know who makes the trunk connector? There are some empty connector pins and will be doing the run/turn/brake mod and would like to add the wire to the stock harness instead of providing another wire with it's own connector. I work part time at a custom shop and do this routinely with Harleys (they pretty much only use Deutch connectors) and it makes for a nice clean install. All you need to do is buy some pins and sockets and insert them into the stock connector.
Thanks in advance! |

Sorry can't help you your question though.
Oh and as far as pull your arms out of your socket torque, you need to talk to Lloyd.
There is a link on the main page. Right side. |

| Welcome Bluto!
I know exactly what you want to do I want to do the same thing too. I will take a look at the connector today when I take my seat off and see if it is of a type available from either Grainger or McMaster Carr. I'll give you a call once I find out. |

Posts: 75 McHenry, IL | Thanks for the welcome. I have already been pouring over Lloyd's site. I'm sure there will be some purchases in the future!
I didn't realize the wires for the CB were already in the harness. I don't plan on getting a CB so I guess worst case scenario (assuming the wires are of sufficient gage) I can splice into the volume up/down wires (ground sensing circuit). I would still prefer to use the empty slots though (there are 2 of them). |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | Been with GM for over 30 years. Victory connectors look VERY familiar. Try AC/ Delco. Or a GM dealer. Dont talk to parts people, without a part number they are lost. Talk to a tech that does a lot of electrical. He should be able to fix you up. If not, try another dealer. Not all techs are equal.

Posts: 75 McHenry, IL | Thanks for the welcomes! No joy yet for the manufacturer of the connector but the search continues! I may end up just replacing the whole connector with a 12 pin Deutch connector.
Yes, my handle comes from Popeye. I've had that nic for many years as I used to look a fair bit like him (before loosing my hair and shaving most of my beard off!)
Webhair - If you want to keep the X, don't take a test ride! LOL! |

Anything here you can use? Did a search for "automotive electrical connector". We use marine and military grade connectors. |
