you can pay $170 or so for the Garmin Streetpilots that are refurbished, this will at least get you the one year warranty and everything that should be in the box. The Victory mount, you can get the Vision mount or the ram mount will work as well. |

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | The Garmin 2820 is the same exact model that Victory sells, just without the Victory logo on the front and the pre programmed national dealers listed. I just paid 235.00 for it online vs 799 from Victory. |

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | Yes. I paid just over $130.00 for mu refurb, shipped from ebay almost a year ago. My point is that this is definitely a plug and play model; although, evidently they upload the service locations, change the splash screen (both can be downloaded and uploaded in >15min) and silkscreened a victory logo for the $800 Polaris-direct model. Since Victory store doors have been open and shut, I'm not sure the dealership info would be worth a red $.01 to begin with. Splash screens can be found by searching this website. Dealorship POI (Points of Interest) can be downloaded at http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/poi/dealers/ Just do the research and reap the $ benefits.
Was just lurking; hope this helps,
-Will

The 2820 is a better model if you need or want the XM, bluetooth and MP3 capabilities. I cant remember if it has a seperate memory card slot or Aux audio output though. I do know the 2720 can be had for about a hundred less and is only a GPS unit with out the extra bells and whistles. I just couldnt see Victory offering a blue tooth cabable GPS and then not even offer blue tooth capable intercom system. Oops, didnt mean to be sound negative there. Guess i better go and beat myslelf wtih birch limbs or something. |

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | you may be correct, i just chose the 2820 simply because it was a newer model and both had been discontinued for 09, so i figured in this case newer might be a better choice. it does have all that chatchki added to it but i dont use all of it. lets face it it can blue tooth all it wants, but i cant put a bluetooth headset on my ear and listen to it. I prefer yelling from one bike to another,, it beats finger gestures now go continue beating yourself with yourr birch limbs, you arent black and blue enough....... or in my case black and chrome.. ha ha |

Posts: 377 O'Neill, Nebraska | I got the 2720 off of e-bay for about $100....it's the same as the one on the ebay ad. In addition the auction does not come with the mount, it just shows the GPS mounted on the bike. Here's the key. This is likely a refurbished model, just like the one I bought.
Not to worry, 1 year and 10k miles later it works perfectly and came with all of the manuals and Garmin Mapping software. Check out the seller feedback and you should be just fine. Pull the trigger on this if you need a GPS. |
