Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Yesterday I met up with Skip from Kerrville, TX, VisionTex and SongFan in Blanco, Texas at Riley's Bar-B-Q. Prior to that day, we have never met each other face to face. Is was nice to finally put a face and voice to the screen name.
None of us had ever seen four Visons outside of a dealership.
After introductions we had a nice meal at Riley's. Another group of riders asked about the Visions. When we went to leave the other group came out to ask questions and check out the bikes. They thought we were from a dealership.
After some Vision talk with the other group, we took off to Luckenbach, TX.
The last time SongFan was in Luckenback was 20 years ago. He said it has not changed much since then.
After Luckenback, we went to Willow City and Harry's on the Loop.
Before we made the complete loop I had to go to work at my Fredricksburg Branch. So much for a Vacation day. I was on the phone there till almost 6:00 PM
I wish I could have stayed with the group longer. Oh well maybe next time.
Here are some picutes. I put more in the Gallery.

I must of said it a dozen times "I have never seen four Visions on the road at the same time."

I found out on the ride that there is still plenty of room in Texas. The Hill Country is just full of back roads and towns I have never learned. Come on down anytime.
I tried to add captions to the Gallery pictures. Here is the link.

Luchenbach is right up the rode from us. What's crazy is...it's just like the song. Ain't hardly anybody there but people making music and riding bikes (MC's).
You gotta go someday! |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Don't stop, keep telling more details. Texas is a great place to ride when the lovebugs ain't flyin'. I would have loved to been on the trip with you guys, instead I was eating bbq with pollolittle an hour from my house with his rental VAN parked in the lot. Of course he parks that in the way back of the lot and my vision was by the curb up front. But, one of these days, I'm going to do my song ride, kentucky rain, luchenbach, teluride, smokey mountain rain, wolf creek pass, stand on the corner in winslow, be in jackson, ms on a saturday night, and eight o'clock in boise, Id. and so on. I'm staying away from "I've been everywhere..." but there is plenty I would take note of. Keep the stories coming.... good shots of the visions dudes! |

I am going to be near the Quarry shopping area from 11:00 to 1:00 tomorrow. Do you want to get lunch? Sunday, I am helping the parents and will tied up all day. Send me an email if you can make it.
I forgot to mention that SongFan and VisionTex are still out there. They took off today from Kerrville for West Texas. I bet they had a great day today! The speed limit is 80 mph farther out IH 10.
varyder,
That sounds like a great trip. All of the pictures came out of SongFan's Camera. I forgot my camera.
Almost every accessory and mod was on one of our bikes. Billet chrome covers, ness covers, plus the brake and clutch covers. LED's on the outside of the mirrors, Muth mirrors, Chrome around the mirrors, highway pegs, CB\Intercom, Driving lights, lots of chrome.
Oh yea, no bugs were out on our ride that day. That was nice.
Take Care,

Fountain Inn, SC United States | I like the photo of Vision on the move. It great to see cyber-friends finally meet. All from this site. That's fantastic! Someday, it would be great to have a Vision-Riders rally. I'm not good at organizing such things but I'd do my best to support it. |

Posts: 377 O'Neill, Nebraska | I like the idea of having a ride based upon songs. For example "China Grove" (Doobie Brothers) is about 20 miles from my house and "Lagrange" (ZZ Top) is another 100 miles.
What 'song cities' do you guys have in your area? Are they worthy of taking your Vision there? |

There's a country song called Saginaw, Michigan, which is right down the road from me. Nothing really ride-worthy around here, though. Well, except for me, of course... :P |

I wish I saw more threads like this one: talking about riding to places, discussions along the way, meeting new people that become friends...Thanks for the story!
I'm also with JAM...love to be part of an organized rendezvous of Visions & Pilots...I'll go to the AVR but will look to where the Visions are parked and meet them first. I'm just not interested in cruiser bikes anymore because as a group, they aren't built for those long trips to somewhere and associated stories of same.
P.S. Once you all got together...how much time did you spend talking about what kind of oil you run?...lol.

Oil was not mentioned around me. We did talk about Muth mirrors and the LED's that VisionTex installed.

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | RT, how much didja give for the harley shirt? Great shots, I wish I would take more pictures as I went, it comes back around for some good memories. I went into a local store that has a sandwich shop, and honestly I was looking to stop to get a cold Diet Mountain Dew and when I got there there was about 4 Harley's out front. I strolled in, got my dew, and the boys, and girls were around the tables eating and soaking a sud or two. They didn't even acknowledge I was there as I was checking out. I still gave them a nod as I went out and stood by my Vision sippin' my dew. Within a few minutes, one by one they meandered out and began asking questions and really talked highly of the Vision. Where was Songfan when I needed him? |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | I just got home today and hit the ground running. Paul, thanks for giving everybody an early look at the ride. I will try to get a video posted on YouTube tomorrow and some pics in my gallery. Will take a while for me to go through all the pics and videos to post the highlights. Sooooo many. Thanks to radioteacher, Smadge (Skip), and especially VisionTex who burned a whole week of vacation to show me the best Texas has to offer. Perfect eight days for me. Thanks guys!
