Well I have had the hitch in the garage for the past 2-3 weeks, it's raining today so what to do. First I want to thank Flatsix for his post of his hitch install and answering a question that I had last night. Now the install.

I attempted to install the hitch without removing the rear tire. I think it can be done, but I ended up cross-threading a bolt and had to take the tire off to chase the threads with a tap. I had one problem that caused me to go in search of parts, the bolts that mount the hitch through the trunk were not long enough. The instructions say that you get M8x1.25x60mm bolts, I got M8x1.25x40mm bolts. I did not check the length before I started, actually I read the instructions 3-4 days ago and did not feel the need to refer back to them.

Other that a couple of problems it was an easy install. I'll try to post a few pictures.

try again.

It will not let me post the pic's.

One other thing, the longest bolts I could find were 50mm the 60mm would be better.

Hi

I just picked up my new vision. One of my thoughts was to remove the trunk periodically and run around in the street version.

I see the hitch doc hitch mounts via the trunk mount holes. Do you see a way of making the switch from touring to street and maintaining the hitch without a whole lot of trouble.

Thanks

Bear

Hey Guys, I also just installed my new hitch and found they sent all the hitches out with the 40mm bolts and I called then at the factory and are sending me three sets of the right size! I appologize for the incoinvenience !!!! SORRY !!!! I went to the local hardware store and bought 60mm bolts and installed them from the underside using a air rachet and this worked out great and I can remove my tour pack without removing the hitch. I again am sorryfor the problem on the hitch bolts!!!!

So you guys did NOT need to remove the tire for the install? Suppose to rain here so maybe I'll see about getting mine installed. Guess I better check the bolt length first
