Happy Easter!

Putting the Family's Prime Rib in the oven right now! There will be three generations at the table at noon today with a fourth on the way in a few months.

Strange thing happened Friday. My wife called me from the Victory dealership in Knoxville, TN and asked if I wanted a mesh Victory jacket. I was thinking that someone had replaced my wife with a clone that would go to a motorcycle dealer.

I checked out the jacket in my 2008 catalog and in the end they did not have my size in stock. So no jacket.

I told her that " I would like the Heal-Toe shifter for the Vision" She asked and the dealer if they had one in stock, they did and she picked it up for me.

What puzzles me is that I had to drag her kicking and screaming to go the old dealership last October here in San Antonio. She could not wait to get out of there. So Friday, she goes shopping with the daughter in Tennessee and is looking for the Victory Dealer.

She told me that they looked around for the dealership and finally stopped to ask someone for directions. My daughter knew where the Harley Davidson dealer was so they drove there and asked where the Victory Dealer is located.

I would have loved to see the faces of the Harley Davidson employees when she asked the question. "Where is the local Victory Dealership?"

Ride Safe. Happy Easter

First Off, Happy Easter to the Four Generations of the Crew and all others who come here, to dine at this table on the Web. May they always get together and enjoy these moments, now and in the future.

Secondly, When you come to Tennessee, that's what happens, it just changes some women for the better. No guarantees when she returns, but while here, aw man look out! Gotta love it, when your woman is shopping for the things you want, especially the things YOU want and not those, "I just knew you would love this pretty new dress!"

pollolittle,

They also went to Pigeon Forge. I am thinking that the Shifter will be the small purchase of the trip.

My daughter lives in Knoxville and teaches orchestra in Maryville to 5th and 6th graders. Her classroom has a big window that faces the mountains. What a view. I have to ride there someday and take a trip south to the Dragon.

Her husband has a Phd in Chemistry and used to work at Oak Ridge. He did his own remodeling of his house and it is first class work. He is different, most guys I have met like him have no people skills nor common sense. Now he is in Law school at UT. He is in the top of his class and his law research has already been published twice. What a guy.

The wife asked me if TSA was going to stop her with the Shifter in the carry on. I told her it was safe just don't swing it at them. It depends on their attitude when she gets checked out.

I love your state. It is one of the few that I might move to when I retire, if I move.

Take Care

I'm a transplant from East Texas. But it is here that I was able to buy the Vision with the Wife's approval. Love me some East Texas, but I have also enjoyed riding around here. Been here for a few, might be a few more unless the wife gets the itch to go back home to Oklahoma City. Most roads there are STRAIGHT. Turn on back road with no stripe down the middle, look off into the distance about a couple of miles and see the road disappear at the top of the next hill. Ride to top of next hill, look off into dis....etc. Repeat until done riding!! BOOooooHHOOOoooo! Not there yet, so we shall see.

You may have to look at the shifter as SHiny White Gold Plated when you get it in your grease ladened, prime rib juice covered hands (I must be hungry)! Considering the trip will (pending length) be above a mere $600+ trip. I think you should have had her pick up a few more things while she was shopping, just so you could value disperse amongst a few different items. Just so the one item isn't so d*&^%^ expensive on its own. Just thinking out loud (while typing that is)! What else were you serving with that prime rib? Is it lunchtime yet? I'm at work!

polloolittle,

I am finishing the Prime Rib right now and packing the truck to transport it, three guitars, my carving set and the video camera to the parents house a few minutes away. They have a ham, stuffed pasta (We are the Guido family so we have to have pasta) side dishes and deserts already there.

I overshot the temp on the prime rib. It will be medium instead of medium rare. Oh well.

If it wan't for the guitars, I would ride the Vision over there.

Happy Easter!

MMMMMM, sounds good, unfortunately your toooooooooooo far away or I would invite myself right over. How you play three guitars is beyond me, the one Gibson I got, kicks my butt.

Otherwise, enjoy, and I hope to get a little something to eat on later, but it looks like it is gonna, pour cat, dogs, turtles, snakes, and elephants and I will be thoroughly wet time I get home. BRRRRRR!

pollolittle,

Sorry you missed it. The meal and family was fun today.

All,

I just got a call from my wife about carrying the Heal Toe Shifter through security at the airport.

The daughter told mom to show the Heal Toe Shifter to the TSA personnel at the airport.

So, she showed it to them and told them, "It is a shifter for a motorcycle." The TSA guy looked at it and asked "Does this go on Harley Davidson?" She replied, "No it is for a Victory motorcycle" He then said, and I quote "Thats good, then its OK to take on board"

She said the guy was in very good mood and and let her go to the secure area with the "Non HD Shifter".

Another reason to ride Victory, the parts are TSA approved for carry on!

BTW, I just saw the great Easter News. "Ship Captain Rescued From Somali Pirates"
Go Navy! Way to go SEALS!

God Bless our first responders and military, where ever they are today.

Ride Safe

Hey Radioteacher,
I'll confess, I had to have a little sit down with your wife and educate her to the importance of anything Victory. After tears, crying, screaming, kicking, and a little hair pulling I was exhausted and looked like crap.. but she came around. So consider the heal/toe
a gift from me. but you're in the doghouse if all you got her was a chocolate bunny..........

VaParadox,

Thanks for the help. I will write up the installation of the heal toe shifter in another thread. The short story is that it took almost two hours to do a 15 minute job.
