Posts: 212 Tavares, Fl | I replaced the rear tire today and had one heck of a time adjusting it. The manual states to run the tire forward and adjust the belt to the inside of the sprocket and adjust till the belt moves outward when rolling the tire backwards... I did this but the allignment marks are off quite a bit. Has anyone else done this????Is there a better way?????? |

| My bike had "chirping belt syndrome" when I bought it. I aligned the belt by the manual (just like you did) no more chirp. The alignment marks were not the same. I have never owned a motorcycle that the marks line up perfectly. This is due to manufacturing tolerances. Go with what works, not the marks. |

| It's really too bad Victory didn't do the same thing that Harley does on the newer models for rear belt alignment, they have an oblong washer welded on the axle bolt, the other end has a grove or notch cut into the axle where another oblong washer is seated so they basically act like a cam, alignment is perfect every time only have to worry about tension, turn the axle bolt bolt and both ends than turn at the same time thus putting more or less tension on the belt, not sure what year they stated doing this but my 2006 had it have a 2008 now, makes rear tire changes a breeze,

I would say from the front, when you are cornering, the sound becomes evident. I have about 8500 mi. on the bike with even wear on the tires, it's just the sound. |

It is a good system. Harley copied it from the Japanese and European dirt bikes. Even my old Husqvarna has it.

| wjoel, I'm running the Avon Cobra's on mine. At first no howl like on the E3 but now I'm beginning to detect some sound. I think it is one of those radial related noises and not just something common to the E3. I do prefer the feel of the Avon over the Dunlop |
