Okay, the exclusive Vision Dash Organizor is coming along. I have to do some more tweaking and some thinking but we're down to template almost complete. I have the prototype pics at theVMC and on Victory-Riders, I will not repost them here. I don't think you need to be a member of Victory-Riders.com to view the pics and I tag them with EVDO so you can use the search at the top right and type in EVDO and you should find them quickly.

So for those who don't know, I'm having made for me a Dash Organizor for my Vision by a local leatherman. He mostly does shoe, boots, coat and so on repair and they are a motorcycle friendly people having made other things. He's made stuff in the past for other riders and I find him to do very quality work. So in discussing this with him he was hoping there would be some demand for it, as he doesn't want to make one and that's it, to only have to make another, and another later. So he wants to make a few of them when he makes mine. I asked if this would be more than a $100.00 and he said yes and it considerably more. I'm only speculating, but I don't expect it to be over $200.00. He can't tell me for sure anything as he doesn't know what difficulties he'll have. I'm in it for sure and I'm hoping the price will be reasonable and lower if there are other serious takers. I'm going the soft leather route and I'm looking into getting that sewable plastic or something that can be shaped and slipped inside to hold up the sides when nothing is in there. Hard leather is just too difficult to work with in doing something like this, but as others has mentioned, I don't want it to look saggy either.

So, what I'm asking of you who are interested, to PM me, even if you did it before so I can get a good count. Remember Vision Riders just crashed and everything related to the Dash Organizor has been lost, encluding your previous PM's. Let me know whether you are a "wait and see" or if you are seriously in on this even if the price is $$200.00, which I'm not expecting it to be. We need a "good" count as I'd like everyone who is wanting one to get their's as soon as they are done. On that note, he says he has to shut down all other things for the day just to make this piece and I'm not sure how many he can make in a day. I'm hoping at least 5, mine and 4 others. If that is all he can make, I'm sure it will be a while before he can make more as he'll have to catch up on all the stuff he got behind on the day he made this, and try to keep pace with new stuff. I'm wanting mine before the 1st to the mid part of March so I'll have it for riding season, so I'm trying to stay on task to give it to him this Friday. When he'll start on it, I cannot say right now.

So, one more time, PM me to tell me you are

  1. Very serious and will have the money and want to buy one of the first ones.
  2. I'd like to have one, but have to wait until I can budget for it...
  3. I'm waiting to see how it will turn out before I'll commit.

Putting reality into this, he doesn't want to get stuck because a bunch of people say yes, I'll buy one and then never pay up. He's been stuck too many times, so understand the questions and your commitment. This is new to me, I'm not getting anything out of it except my very own Dash Organizor that I will pay for like everyone else. If you know of another Vision Dash Organizor please share, because I don't want him to go through all this trouble and there is already one available, he's only doing this because he wants to help meet the need of a customer, as there is not a demand for this kind of thing. It is a departure of his day to day business that puts the bread on his table.

When you PM me please give me your email address, as that is the way I'll communicate from then on, it is too much keeping up with the posts. Anytime anyone reads this posts and wants to join in, PM me by clicking on my name in the post and then you'll see "send personal message" or something like that. Okay, everyone got it? ahhhh you with your hand raised, yes?..... no I will not respond to any posts on this thread, please PM. anymore questions, yes, you with the Vision Pilot shirt and the funny looking thing on your head.... oh yes VaParodox..... No, it will not have a Vision Logo on it and a place to put your bagel, though you can put anything in the pockets you want, .38, 44, even a place for your derringer.... Okay, if there is no more questions, I look forward to your PM's. Good day.

I just sent an email provided by those are interested in the Vision Dash Organizer that I'm having made. If you did not recieve an email and you expressed before, or are currently interested, please PM me and give me your email address. I need to have a smart list, so please indicate your definetly in, or are only curious. I'm trying to keep the cost at or below $200.00 plus shipping. Also, this item will appear to be one piece but it will be compartmentized as described upon. Zippers open is the driving factor and I actually like it better as I'm going to get a embordered eagle or something like that sewn on mine. I need to find out about the cost of that, and it will have to be sewn on before he starts putting it together. That will be more cost

I'm bringing this back up to the top again as it has been a while here and there are new members that might be interested in a Dash Organizer. First, if you are interested please PM me and give me your email address.

I'm currently putting the embrodery idea on hold, need to get the organizer done first, the embrodery is a task to it self. If you are not familiar, please read the first post.

I spent about two hours with the leatherman today and I will be leaving my Vision with him on Monday. I'm hoping the first one will be done by the end of the day, at latest, the end of the week. He had a good prototype working and has a structural solution that will prevent sag. It will have a smooth leather cover and appearance. The dash has such a curvature to it that he needs the actual bike to do this thing. It is really taking some work to do and he seems to enjoy the challenge. I'm already very pleased as I enVision the outcome of this item. While the prototype was "installed" I sat in the saddle and got a good look from the front, in spite of standing in the rain. I will certainly be worth the wait when it finally gets done. I'm going on an Iron Butt ride on the 16th of May and I'm hoping to put it to the test. If all is well, then I think it will be ready for "production". Mind you, I'm sharing an idea for those that want it and at this time I do not know what the final cost is. I asked him today because he has expended A LOT of time. He says, don't worry, I've not even kept track of any of it, I'm enjoying this.

I want to make sure this is fully functional before he makes anymore, and it will require the Vision dash to be at hand to do the fitting for every one. There is a curve across and to the back, so I'll be checking on ordering just a dash so he can keep at his place to make any more. I know there is about 6 or so definites, and about 4 maybe's and some lurkers that is waiting to see what it is actually like. Either way, it don't matter to me, I'm just sharing and helping those that want one to get one. I don't think there is many out there that would take the time to do this. The finished product will be exclusive to the Vision Dash and I expect it to fit the class of the Vision, but at the same time be what a biker needs for the road.

Can't wait.
