Hi,
Does any know how to find a part number for this? I looked on the Vic parts website for a half hour and finally called. They looked for 15 minutes and only came up with the gear indicator. Pretty sure not the same part because the troubleshooting section in manual has gear indicator and transmission test separate with different wires to test.

Thanks

Are you asking about the switch that is on the clutch. If so p/n 2203660

gear indicator switch p/n 4010976

I just went threw the parts finch and they don't have a neutral safety switch

Thank Johnny. I think I need both. I found the one on the clutch lever. So what happened was all of a sudden it wouldn?t crank in neutral despite have a green neutral light. If I wiggled the shifter it work start or if I pulled clutch in. Then it would only crank with the clutch pulled in. Yesterday I got stuck. After pulling the clutch in and out 10 times it started. There are 2 troubleshooting tests in the manual, one for the neutral switch (no part number of course) it has a black and pink wire. The other was for gear indicator. This is a 2013 XC Manuel, but it?s the same in my 2008 Vision manual.

Sorry, typo. I found the part number for the clutch lever switch. 22 bucks.

say pull wires off switch and clean and see if that does it. Or tape the two wires together and then you should be able to start it.
If you need to order the switch write this guys he has good prices

So, there is a video on YouTube of a guy taking the micro switch on the handlebars apart. It is very easy. I found the copper contacts corroded with green oxidation. I cleaned with a pencil eraser and stretched the small pressure spring a tad. Good as new. I called Kevin X about the other problem. Johnny is correct, the gear indicator switch is also the neutral safety switch. Not sure what year it changed, but on 2013s the ECM decides what gear you are in based on speed and engine RPM. I looked at the part again and realized the description says gear indicator/neutral-overdrive switch. Only $21. I guess that is why the gear number goes away when the clutch is pulled in.
