Posts: 152 Bonita Springs, FL | I had my dealer install 4 Hyper LED lights in the plastic trim on the very outside of each mirror. Each light has it's own wire and you must drill holes and then I think they glued them in. When not on as a turn signal they look like a 1 carat diamond embedded in the plastic molding. They work very well, and especially at night. Total cost with labor was about $110.00. I think these are better than on the mirrors for two reasons. First they do not take any of the mirror up and second they are out further and easier to see. |

Posts: 152 Bonita Springs, FL | Here is a photo with the turn signal off. As I said, looks like 4 one carat diamonds embedded in the plastic. According to the dealer each light has two wires, they put those all together and tied them into the turn signals on each side.
The closet doors are in my garage, I have everything including my workbench hidden in closets.
This mod really looks good and works well, not the greatest in bright sun but does work well.

Posts: 849 , FL United States | Details, please! Did your dealer get all the parts & do the install? My dealer has no problem w/ the install but I need more info on the actual led's that were used. Thanks, Luke |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | I did this to my Vision Saturday, took me about four hours. The lights are available on e-bay, they are a single LED, red. Got 20 of them for $23, plus shipping. I put six on each side, it is pretty easy to do, just tie into the turn signal bulb wiring on each side. Getting the 10mm bolt out of the center of the mirror was the hardest part. Also, to let you know, the lights fit into the speaker, the black molding. Due to a small amount of bulk of the wire in this area, this cover does not fit back as tight to the painted part of your fairing. I may take them off again and do some trimming of the faring in this area for a better molding fit. It is a nice modification, you definately know the blinkers are on.
So while I was in the mood, yesterday I added three LEDs to each one of the trunk running lights and tied them into the brake lights. So now my trunk lights are also brake lights as well as running light. The one's I put in are red, I may remove them and go with a white light. This was a much bigger job than the turn signals. I write up the steps I took on both jobs and post, maybe tonight.

Posts: 113 East Ohio | Just finished the install on my SSG today, bought 10 prewired 5mm red led's shipped for $7.84, a "buy it now" on ebay took about 3 hours, took off the mirrors and trim piece, drilled 3/16 holes in the trim, slid them in from the back with a spot of superglue at the base, drilled another hole to get the wires to the turn signals, wired them up, put everything back together. They look good, and as a bonus, I no longer have a vibration in the left mirror. I'm a happy camper, thanks for starting this thread, great idea!

Posts: 41 Litchfield Park, AZ | Would you share the ebay site with me where you bought the 10 5mm LED lights? Great job and thanks for the detail....drill size and all. Did you drill from the outside in or inside out? Did you drill in directly perpendicular or at an angle?
Sure appreciate your help. Stan |

Posts: 41 Litchfield Park, AZ | I ordered a 10 Pack of the 5mm LEDs and put them in last night. Super easy! I got the superbright, wide angle LEDs. Not only look clean but safer! They are BRIGHT and definitely alert traffic next-to and behind of impending lane change. Great idea! Thanks! |
