Posts: 293 Arkansas | I removed mine. Can't really say what difference it made. It certainly has not hurt!
I have a K&N filter with S1L1 and the vic remap . |

there is a black set of tubes behind the filter. the tube resembles the same tubes on the early airboxs.
Its only purpose is to quiet down the noise of the air coming in. It definitely limits your air flow
and without it in place there is an increase in airflow and corresponding noise.
It sits immediately behind the air filter under center headlight. |

By the sounds of it, there is no real improvement (noticeable) and therefore is something that might be done the "next time" I am in that area with the bike apart. Correct? |

While in stock form engine it doesn't hurt performance is it safe to asume that removing it wouldn't have any change (increase or decrease) in any performance? I doubt it would, but want to see what you have to say.
Or in other words I'm a teeny bit confruzed. On a stock setup would anything change if this tube is removed? And on a non-stock setup would anything change? And would the change be better or worse? I'm talking any performance changes, not intake noise.
