Posts: 935 Rockford, IL | A few months back I brought up the idea of doing some polls. Why? Well for the fun of it !! And also possibly gather some info that may help out the site with things like marketing or whatever. So lets start with an AGE poll ! Come on...takes you less than a few seconds to click on the poll |

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | I just turned 53 in November but I sure hope I will be able to check the 76+ option box when I am that old. I would like to be in the Genius World records for the oldest man riding a touring bike on long trips and hope it is at 90 plus years old. |

Posts: 320 Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay! | A few years ago, when I had just gotten my license, my hubby, son and I had the pleasure of bumping into a charming older gentleman at a gas station in SC on a GL1500. We were all trying to outrun a nasty looking storm. I happen to notice his license plate was Alaska and asked him about it. Turns out, he was riding to his daughter's house in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Wing was one of two bikes that he owns. This one was his "Lower 48 Wing", that he stores at his son's house in TX. His other one he keeps in AK. He uses that one when he flies down to the states. He had already ridden from TX, to Vegas, and was on his way to Myrtle Beach. He rides in AK as long as there isn't ice on the streets. Did I mention that he was 87 at the time? He said that he thorough;y enjoyed hostravels except that his wife had passed a few years prior, so now his back seat was empty. He was a pleasure to talk to, and an inspiration.

The best part of being 54 is being old enough to know better than to do (too many) stupid things, but young enough to still have fun. This is the age where I can say, been there, done that, took notes and don't have to do it again if I don't want to. Plus, retirement is right around the corner!

Posts: 273 Midlothian, Va. | Let's see, just got home from my 2nd colonoscopy going to the ortho doc tomorrow to look at my left knee that I've been putting off for 18 months and will be 66 in a couple of weeks. Good news is my junk still works, no mortgage or bills and I've been retired for two years. A very happy Vision pilot. |

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | I hope all of the riders in the 50 to 55 year old range are still riding when they are 76+. There is a women in San Antonio that rides a BMW and she was 82 years old about three years ago and had put about 100,000 miles on her bike in a year an a half. Now that is a record I want to beat at that age. |

Posts: 97 Okeefenokee Swamp | At soon to be 45 years young, I did not feel old until a couple of weeks ago when I found out from both of my sons that both their wives are pregnant. i will be a grampa twice before the end of the year. Once in September and once in December. Man, it seems like only yesterday I was changing their diapers. At least on my Vision I have plenty of room to carry a baby seat on the passenger pillion. Before anyone says anything, that line about the baby seat was a joke.I am gonna strap em to the luggage rack. |
