Mike,

Welcome aboard.  CycleDragon is a good shop to deal with for the Vision.  Good luck with your purchase.

Word of warning. All the positive stuff you here on our site about the vision is intentionally downplayed. In reality IT'S 1000 Times BETTER !!!!! You will love that it keeps you from cutting the grass. You will love that your Visn keeps you from painting the house. You will fret because you know if it comes to a choice between good sex and your Visn,, you'll have to ponder it....... You'll love it each time you drive by the HD shop and think "damn, my bike rides perfectly".. You'll love that you feel younger, thinner, more muscular, sexier, happier, and more life enriched............... oh wait, sorry that was because of the drugs... oh heck, the bike will make you feel that way too !!! Now go get that Vision and share the joy !!!! WELCOME !

Well thanks for the all the replies. Secret hand shake eh? That will be worth the purchase. Just have to get through the holidays.
I'm curious about the upgrades to the exhaust system. I realized on my test ride the exhaust was back firing a little. I was told that it's because the bike was cold.
I know an upgrade on the exhaust and the timing should take care of those problems. But what I don't know is which exhaust upgrade is the best. I read different ways to go with the exhaust from the Vision upgrade to third party upgrades. I just want the best performance I can get out of the machine with out having to take a bunch of different steps to get there. When I do purchase the Vision I want to get it right the first time and tell the dealership, this is what I want. I dig the turn signal deal with the rear storage compartment. that's a great idea. And the wrap on the console. I'm thinking Jimi Hendrix, Axes Bold As Love cover. I'll keep you inform when I get it. It will be about 4 to 6 weeks. I hope sooner. Have to pay the Xmas bills off first. Thanks again guys. Later.

I'm reading other forums and people are talking about the heat on the right side being so hot that they are getting burns on their legs. Has Victory fixed this problem?

Hey Bud

I never thought the heat was "burn" level but installing the lowers on the bike takes care of
100% of that. I can send you pics of them if you want to see them. The lowers are big
and fully adjustable meaning you can close the air off totally for the winter and use the engine
warmth, or open them back in for summer and it re-directs all of that passing air directly
into the engine area and you wont feel any heat at all. They also look great on the bike
They dont look "after market".

My bike is pretty much fully loaded so if you want to see something on the bike, let me know.
I kept the stock exhaust , never had a backfire problem. I did however change my tips
to the gattling guns which looks awesome and gets a lot of attention (as if the bike needs more of that).

There is a guy on here who can design the center console for you when you are ready to change it out. Im working with him now and we are sending designs back and forth and he really is
talented. His cost on a center console wrap is about 150.00 which is not bad at all for the
amount of work he puts into each design.

talk soon

The Harley I rented last year in Hawaii was WAY hotter than the Vision. If you add the lower wind deflectors it really helps cool off the legs but even without its still cooler than the Harleys.

Thank you so much.Captain Mac for your attention in my request for understanding the heat problem. I was at the Motorcycle show in Long Beach, CA. and saw the Victory bikes and talked with John from Cycle Dragon. A good guy. I noticed one of the Visions had the lowers installed on it. So I do know what you are talking about.

OK on the exhaust answer. I do like a throater sound though.
I saw the center console designs on this site and was impressed with the way they looked. $150.00 is a fair price.

Talk to you later.

Thanks graybeard, I had a Road King 2003, I wear steel toe shoes and jeans and on hot days the heat off the engine in city traffic was murder.

My wife can't wait for me to purchase the Vision so that I will stop talking about it. But I'm afraid my mouth wont stop because of the fun we'll have on it.
I really like the Road King too. I spent about another two to three grand more on it just so it would fit me. Then after riding it for 38 thousand miles and bring into the shop for the same problem which was the charging system wasn't charging the battery. The battery kept on dieing on me and I was bring it to the shop over and over again, they finally fixed it on the fourth try. They were telling me that they had a bad batch of voltage regulators from the vendor Harley was using. It turned out to be the mechanics fault for not pushing the connector together tight enough so they would lock in together and stop unplugging each other. The connector was arching. Some one was very lazy in their work. That really pissed me off.

I sold the bike in September, and started to look for something different than a Harley.this was my third Harley too and my eleventh bike. I was thinking Indian, but their infustructure isn't as solid as I would like. Then some how I remembered the Victory brand of motorcycles. I have been doing a lot of research on this company, more so than other motorcycle company, and I don't know why, but I am. There are the pros and cons like anything else. But most of all, a lot of it has to do with the owners and riders of the Victory motorcycle and how you guys feel about the product.

I'm will to give it a go. Like I said before when I do my purchase I'll let you all know and thanks again for all your answers and support.

You'll like the Vision. Its not a Harley and you might still have some dealer issues but the bike is very reliable. The biggest plus for me is the fit. At 6' tall I just fit perfectly without any mods. My last two bikes where HD Road Glides and while good bikes I still like the vision better than the 07 RG.
As for the heat question.... There is heat off the right side, not bad but its there. I ride with my feet extended out on the rfront roll overs so its not an issue. Some have installed the wind deflectors but I don't much care for the look, and one or two have actually removed an inch or so from the aluminum cowl inner edge (keeping the curve of course) which they report eliminates all heat buildup. I never found it bad enough to justify any type of add on or mod, JMO.
Like I said yu'll love this bike but ride cautious for a while. You'll tend to turn in too tight for a few days.

I have the Stage 1 Level 2 Exhaust from Victory. With the proper map it runs great and has better low end torque to 1500 RPM. The sound is deeper then the other exhausts that Victory sells but you can not install the Gatlin tips with S1L2 Exhaust.

I like it. It is quiet enough to get out of the driveway without waking the neighborhood but has a nice growl when you lean on it.

I take the Vision to work almost everyday. On days that the temp does not rise above 35 degrees the exhaust still pops some. I am thinking that the engine never comes up to a temperature that the computer is happy with.

It is a great ride. Buy it ride it.

I'm 5'8" tall. Does Victory have a set of handle bars that have about another 2 inch reach toward and down a little about an 1 inch to the driver with a short arm reach?

If that was true than I would be a happy biker.

fang1111 I'm pretty sure they have a 1.5" longer and 1.5 shorter bar for the Vision. The two 2009 Visions I've checked out had bars that seem/felt to be just a tad taller than those on the 08 and just a wee bit further forward (but I could be mistaken). Either way I don't think the "stock" bar reach would be an issue for you. Add the Utopia backrest as soon as you get your vision. This will allow you to set the rider position within the seat wherever you have the best reach advantage. From there you can determine if you really want a different bar. Victory has come out with a number of fine tuning add-ons that you can play with. I dare say from 5'8" to 6'2" are pretty well accommodated stock.

fang1111,

I am 5'7" with a 33 to 34 inch shirt sleeve length. I have over 5600 miles on my Vision and ride it almost every day to work. My longest ride to date is 422 miles in 12 hours. I find the stock bars quite comfortable for short and long distance riding.

I added the crusier pegs and when the heat gets a little toasty on my legs all I do is prop my feet on the pegs and I don't notice the heat anymore. The pegs do not stretch you out to far but it gets your feet and lower legs out from the fairing so that you catch enough wind to cool down.

Hi Everyone

I'm a new Vision owner myself. Just picked up the bike a couple of weeks back. We had a good day yesterday so me and my wife took it and for a little spin. 140 miles later and I was really impressed with the way it handled on the twisty roads 2 up.
