| Vision-Riders Moderator, Does Vision-Riders have a concept of a "Vendor Forums" section? Some place where vendors could show their Vision parts? Thanks, Tim

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Tim - Miles & I have been struggling with this idea for awhile now. Certainly, we'd like to encourage vendors to participate on the site.
Some quick thoughts:
- We currently don't have a special section/forum for Vendors to give a general sales "pitch" on Vision-Riders. I've watched the Vendor Forums on the VMC and while they were set up with the best intentions, it looks like they've diluted somewhat into social forums around the vendor. Not sure if that's what we want.
- We have set up a Vendor's Group on the Victory-Riders Network where vendors are welcome to let others know about them. I think it would be great if each Vendor started their own group on that site as well.
- We do have a Commercial Classifieds forum in the Buy & Sell section of this site. Our hope was to allow vendors/dealers to list special deals, or things they want to liquidate there.
I am very interested in hearing what you all would like to see as far as a Vendor presence here. Can't say that we'll follow everyone's desires, but I do hope for some good ideas. I am not opposed to finding ways to bring in some modest income to the site either.
I definitely want to hear from any Vendors as to what they think would work for them.
Thanks,
Jeff

| Jeff, I was hoping that whatever we come up with could encourage potential vendors to develop products for the Vision. Lloydz sometimes posts polls on what owners want and don't want and hopefully that feeds into new product development. It could also give the vendor an interested head-count on new products. Just my 2 cents. Happy Holidays, Tim

Posts: 297 VA | I would like to see a vendor section. I know that when I had my last bike, it was only the second year for that production style. It was really hard finding parts and accessories. I come here almost every day, so it would make things easier for me at least to have 1 area that I could check first. I would like to see the site make some money too, so maybe an agreement that the vendor will offer at least a modest discount for entering a code found on the website? and in return, maybe kick a referral fee to the site? I don't know how you'd keep them honest, but maybe it could work.
I have found more parts/accessories through this site than doing internet searches. It has all come from other vision-riders.com members posting their own reviews, or "hey I found something cool" posts. Maybe the vendor section would be a post-only for the vendors to make it so that there aren't really threads, and a link to their email or website to get further info. Maybe instead of a referral fee, the site can get a posting fee. This is a pretty captive audience. Maybe that will help cut down on some of your own costs.
I agree though that I don't really want a social/discussion about the products, there is already a review forum, and people could check on there to find out if others liked the products offered on the vendor section. |

| One of the Ranger sites I go to have a neat thing. The dealers can send PMs to all members on sale promos. Of course they are good enough to only send about 1 a month. I would not like vendors spamming me with offers.
Sure a vendor spot where they could post coupons and/or sales events would be nice.
Would it be any good to have a post area where owners could post thoughts and ideas for new items they would like to see? Posters would have to remember that vendors won't spend lots of money on items that look like will only sell a couple. Also owners would have to recognize items can not be designed overnight in most cases and there may be "bugs" in items when they first come out. |

Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | First be assured that Dealers and Vendors as well as Victory do see this site as is evidenced by the kind references on sites like the VRA blog.
Currently the options are....
So I guess what I'm saying, there are already many options, and some Vendors with an interest are using them.
If you know a Vendor that makes a part for Vision, then by all means have them contact us and we'll see how we can help them.
Ultimately i'd like to see sometime in the future is a page of Vision specialty parts, with the standard "user reviews" similar to what is found at placed like Amazon and the like.
